Brett Favre's spectacular stint with the Minnesota Vikings appears to be over. Favre has informed the Vikings he will not return to Minnesota for a second season, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press on Tuesday. The 40-year-old Favre called coach Brad Childress to say his injured left ankle is not responding as well to surgery and rehabilitation as he had hoped,...

My prediction is that August 12th when training camp is over, he'll announce his return.

Nah. I just saw that no one had posted on it yet. He doesn't really bother me really. Aaron Rogers may turn out better than Brett when all is said and done. I was listening to Rome today and an email came in where the guy said he was a Packers fan living in MPLS and was getting a sadistic pleasure watching the train wreck unfold.
Personally I hope he does retire. It turns the Vikings from a contender to a bottom dweller. I think the Lions would even do better than the Vikings this year.

Aaron Rogers is the better QB. He just needs longevity to match Favre so time will tell.

Which he aint gonna get unless the Packers O-line gets better. He's gotten whacked around good the past 2 seasons. I like Aaron Rodgers a lot.

"Brett Favre told ESPN's Ed Werder in Hattiesburg, Miss., on Wednesday that he has not made any decision about returning to play for the Minnesota Vikings this season and says he will play if healthy."

hah...It's a pretty funny story but deadspin and Jenn Sterger are far from reliable sources.
Until there's any remotely credible proof I'm going to chalk this up to her being an attention whore and deadspin reporting anything without proof.
(If it proves to be true, will be hilarious)

I hope someone snaps his femur in game 1 so we never ever have to hear about him again.

You would probably hear about him even more if he were injured.

I kinda laugh at it. ESPN and all the other sports entities seemed to want to make it a big drama but Favre said that he wanted to play if he was healthy. Now there's all the rumours about him "not trusting" Childress, but we all pretty much knew he wasn't going to go out with the last pass he through being a pick if he could help it...
