WTB - Amiga!

Post by Aslanna »

This might be a weird question since half the people here probably never heard of the Amiga.. However... If anyone has one sitting in their closet or something they want to get rid of let me know!

Sold my c-64 and Amiga 500.

Wish I would have kept them. Nothing on eBay?

Yeah I looked at what's on ebay.. Thought I'd check here too since it's a hotbed of activity.

The only two Amigas I used were a 1200 and a 4000 (w/ toaster), far ahead of their time.

Wasn't mine, just got to play with it. Guy I worked with owned it :)

Couldn't do comparable work on an Intel platform until maybe 4-5 years later and then you needed a cluster.

4000/toaster.. Used to work for a networking company that supported a few TV stations. They all had Amigas with toasters. It was incredible what they could do with those rigs. The 486 dx266 had just come out and I had one with 4HUGEmb of ram with of all things a QUAD speed cd rom drive. The Amiga put it to shame. We had a few old Amiga 1000's in the shop from back when they used to sell them. I bought one and took it home, damn if I didnt spend more time on that computer than my pc. Guru meditation error put BSOD to shame! :)
