Nuclear Launch Detected (SC2)

Post by Sargeras »

Tonight I'm going to take a break from the house cleaning/setting up to pwn some zerg. I'll probably only get to play for an hour or so when my girlfriends wants to get back to work.

Got this on Saturday. I <3 our friends at Blizzard, and I can't wait for 9pm tonight!

I have the SE being delivered tomorrow but won't get to play until the late evening. I plan on going through the campaign first, then trying to recreate some of my classic maps from SC 1 with the editor. I still have a gut feeling that the game play will be so dated that the game won't have legs for me, but I look forward to having those worries put to rest!

SC2 does not support Eyefinity, which is pretty fucking lame. There is no official reason, but the popular rumor is that it is an unfair advantage to those running an Eyefinity setup. If that really is a reason, then single player should still be able to support multiple monitors.

So far,IMO, Dawn of War 2 is superior to SC2.

Ok, played a couple of levels. It's a very polished game as is expected from Blizzard. If God is in the details, then SC2 is one of the most Godly games I have ever played. The achievement list alone is unreal. There is a ton of goals for this game, that's for certain. The setting so far is so "Firefly" that it's basically a mix of flattery and copyright infringement! For all intents and purposes, Raynor is Malcolm Reynolds. The music is all right out of Firefly too. Pretty cool actually. Blizzard has always borrowed shamelessly from other sources, but damn, they always seem to mix and match the perfect formula every time.

There seem to be so many little nooks and crannies to explore that every time I fire the game up there is something new to discover and tinker with.

If my final opinion of Dawn of War 2 was 10/10, then SC2 is looking to be equal to that so far. It really is outstanding. I guess the best compliment I can give is that it is currently exceeding the hype, which is absolutely crazy. I'll be first in line to get the Special Editions of the next 2 follow-ups to this game. I just hope they don't wait years between releases.

Oh yeah, the Thor pet for WoW has to be the coolest pet in the game. It's animations are great!

To be fair, the music in SC2 is very much influenced by the music that was in SC1. Firefly, while an amazing show I love with all my nerd heart, doesn't have a monopoly on twangy southern music in sci-fi :P

My realID is spencer.ford@gmail.com if any one wants to add me for 2, 3, 4 or even custom games. Just leave VV and name in the note so i know you're not some spammer (been happening a bit in wow but hopefully they haven't gotten to sc2 yet).

Love this game. 10/10.

Perhaps I'm a noob, but how do you sign up for a RealID? All of my googling has only come up with people outraged about it, and the page on Blizzard tells you what it does for you but I don't seem to see how to obtain one.

Considering it's Blizzard, you probably just type in your full social in a random data entry field!

I picked this up right when I got back from Japan on Sunday, been playing it a bit and I'm quickly realizing I need to polish my skills up a bit.

Even though I think it's evil and wrong (Real Id) the email for my battle.net is merdenoms11@yahoo.com if anyone wants to add me.

It was awesome! My cousin lives there, and two of our friends went too. It was basically like 3 weeks of the movie The Hangover. I'm trying really hard to find a job on the Yokosuka base right now, but I may just end up seeing if my current employer will let me work remote so I can leave soon.

I really like it there, I feel homesick now that I'm back in the states like I belong there... Doesn't hurt that there's a girl I hit it off with while I was there last year and again this year too :)

I went bowling on that base! It's not too bad. Except for when the boats are in.

Yeah it's not a bad base. The bars outside of the main gate (the area is called the honch) are pretty cool, but when a lot of ships are in it gets shitty too, a bunch of idiot Americans trying to be tough.

I'd live like 15 minutes away by train in a town called Zushi. It's a beach town, and it's pretty bad ass.

Sorry for the derail.

A little of column A and a little of column B. It's a lot more alike than it is different.
