Bloodletting (ep02) was a nice episode.

That episode blew. Nothing happened at all. It took an entire episode to locate supplies?

And they totally didn't plan that escape right at all. The skinny man should have run and draw off all the zombies while the fat man skipped out the back way. I thought Otis was going to be a feast for those zombies making him run all that way. Those zombies were way too fast imho.

Haha. I did the same thing. I thought my PVR stopped recording for a few minutes.
Nice to see the zombies walk at their normal speed again. They only seem to go as fast as the people they're chasing.

The way normal zombies walk, you should be able to lay a garden hose in front of them and trip the lot of them up

Re: The Walking Dead
Latest episode was pretty damn boring compared to the previous. It basically had two themes: kid gets lucky and gimmick well-ghoul. That said, the story is certainly plodding aside from a few moments so far. Luckily, we are getting some good character development this season.
Dragging out plot lines may work nicely in graphic novel form, but here it seems a bit much, especially with a short season 1 and a split up season 2. Little girl has been gone since season 1, Mearl has been gone since the pilot!
Guess I can't complain too much since it is a rad zombie series. Still hoping Mad Men goes away so the budget opens up a tad and there is greater chance of season renewal.

The only character that is really annoying me is the wife of the cop. She gives me the same vibe as that chick Clint Eastwood used to run with in a lot of his movies, Sondra Locke. Ewwwww.

It's good that they stray a tad from the comics, then even we who have read the comics can be surprised.

On a related note, I get the impression that the people behind the show are trying to move the TV series back to parallel the comic a little more closely, while breaking with it enough to keep people guessing.

No problem. Also, on The Talking Dead aftershow, they announced that the actress who will be playing Michonne next season is Danai Gurira (imdb profile).

Apparently, I sold the producers short on this. There was a plan behind the paratrooper in the tank all along. Sadly, we'll never see that plan come to fruition.Xatrei wrote:1. Of course there's nothing to prevent a soldier from a non-armor unit (or a Sheriff's Deputy from Kentucky) from entering the vehicle, but I doubt that much thought went into it. 1) Is there some special force shield that would prevent Airborne members from entering a stationary tank to attempt to escape from zombies?
2) Glocks can have manual safeties on them. It is not a factory option, but there are several places you can either have them done or get one to add in yourself.

Re: The Walking Dead
What was the plan? Don't think I have seen anything detailing much of the plans they have had for the series.
Also...now that we know that everyone is already infected, it makes more sense that two people inside a tank were zombified and very well may have died from dehydration.

So Netflix is streaming s2 now, and I find myself agreeing more and more with Shane the psycho and less and less with Rick the diplomatic vagina. Some of those people are dumber than shit, and I would use most of them as gut-shot walker-bait at the first chance I got. Can't travel the zombie pockyclips with that much emotionally-fragile deadweight.

Re: The Walking Dead
Solid start to Season 3. Not sure if the cast that is left can hold up on their own--story-wise. Still though, my biggest hope is that we lose some more dull, plodding spots, which plagued the first half of last season.
Season 3 begins what appears to be several months after the events that closed season 2.

It wasn't so much the lack of zombie action that bothered me, it was how the story didn't progress much, especially when I knew where it was going

Re: The Walking Dead
A big part of the problem last year was apparently related to the last minute departure of Frank Darabont. The new show runner, Glen Mazzara, was left to pick up a bit of a mess - scenes that were shot were scrapped entirely, sets that had been built were not used, several story lines were abandoned entirely. Due to a combination of budget limitations and time constraints, they were forced to stretch the farm arc over more episodes than originally planned. That resulted in the plodding middle portion of last season. They're promising a big shift in action this season, and hopefully they'll deliver. Knowing what the whole Governor arc involves in the comics, I have a hard time not taking them at their word.

Holy mother of God Season 3, episode 2 was amazing. This episode had something awesome every commercial break. It was fantastic. The Ricktatorship is absolutely brutal. Season 3 Rick would slap the shit out of Season 1 Rick.
