When I was a kid growing up, watching marathon back to back episodes of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (mmm Wilma Deering), and Comic Shops were in their heyday, there were always discussions going on debating who the better artists was, Frank Frazetta or Boris Vallejo.
Frazetta wins hands down IMO. If you look at any painting by Boris Vallejo, the male faces look EXACTLY like his. He had no imagination and had to rely on poses (Much like Greg Horn does in modern day comics). Frazetta's paintings had much more feeling to them.

He was one of the artists that portrayed women as they should.
