Fuel (The Racing game) is 3.74$ on Steam right now. Apparently they have to request more keys from Codemasters though cause they ran out. Oh and it's GFWL so it has ACHIEVEMENTS!!

METRO 2033 sounds cool. I'll run over tomorrow to see if it is on-shelf...maybe FFX XIII as well.

I had zero interest in FF13 but at $30 I'm actually considering it. I might still pass on it though as I can no longer get into RPGs. Especially JRPGs. So that counts out NIER as well.

Darksiders might be a possibility as well although some of the lower reviews scare me.
At its best, Darksiders plays like an interactive compilation of this console generation's most interesting game mechanics. At its worst, it's like sitting through a mediocre cover band as they fumble their way through your favorite tunes.
Bayonetta will also get a pass from me. That's a $20 title at best.

Bayonetta is like a billion times more fun and entertaining than Darksiders.

It might be fun. But it's not $30 fun! At least to me. The sex as gimmick thing I found annoying.

I have to pass on the Kmart sale. I just spent 150$ on Warhammer 40k minis and I have 4 titles I plan on buying this month. I'm also heavily into GTA4 right now and between that and both expansions, I'll be playing that for at least a month.

Oh yeah, Bayonetta and Darksiders are great games. Lots of good times to be had for the prices those are going for.

Not sure if it's a limited time offer or not but I notice Loco Roco 2 (PSP of course) is $8 on PSN. If you never played LR before I think 2 is a good place to start since it improves on pretty much everything from the first one. And $8 is nothin!

I'd check the shopping cart on that first. I had the clerk at KMart today price check Metro' for me since the tag still had $59.99.

I had a friend call and ask me if I wanted him to pick me up any of the Kmart sale games, so I caved and got Metro and AvP anyway.

I'll likely skip Lost Planet 2 as a day 1 purchase. Not a huge loss.

I think Blur was a victim of all the excellent games we got in May.

Split/Second, Red Dead, Alan Wake, Super Mario Galaxy 2 etc..

It really was an embarassement of riches last month.

I can't get the thing to work. I'm not sure why they just can't have a regular coupon instead of having to install that crap. One computer crashes when running the install and the other seemed to install but then it says it's not installed when I go to print. Ah well I think even for $20 this is too much effort.

Blur was 20$ last night on Amazon for about an hour between 3-4am. I think they bumped it up to 30-40$ now. I had a friend up awake early that picked up a copy for both of us!

Also, same friend got me a copy of Beatles Rock Band for 17$ from some site last week.

Resonance of Fate is only $35 at kmart...if you're into JRPG type games...but with Guns instead of swords this time. I'm like 3 hours in and the combat alone is very addictive at this point. I'm sure at later stages in the game, it will be annoying to be that "involved" with combat...but we'll see.

This game came out like a week before final fantasy 13...which clearly over shadowed it and made it "missable" I imagine by lots. Its from triace, the star ocean and valkyrie profile people.

Big mix of reviews on metacritic...avg. 74 on the 360.

The Steam deals have been really good. I've really had to check myself and limit my impulse buying a bit.

So far I've picked up:

Civ 4 complete
Witcher Enhanced Edition
Zombie Shooter

I'm on the cusp of getting the Square Enix/ Eidos complete package. I own the majority of the games I want on the 360, but it's still a great deal. Same with the CoD pack. 30$ forall the CoD games except MW2 is a stupidly good deal.

They have been having decent deals lately. Too bad the instore staff sucks. Last time I was there I was standing at the stupid locked case and the guy comes over with another customer, unlocked it, took the game the guy wanted, locked it back and walked away. Never even asked if I needed help. If it wouldn't have taken me 20 minutes to get there I probably would have left at that point. http://blogs.mykmart.com/2010/06/video- ... ffers.html for more info

Yes, Kmart's game deals have been way better than average lately. I was bitter they didn't have any copies of castlevania X at my kmart.

Google maps doesn't have the roadside picture of it, but the kmart by me is so fucken ghetto. Its one of the dirtiest stores I shop at, and its actually marginally worse than walmart...except the bonus of having less people there getting in your way every five seconds, or stupid kids running around unsupervised.

But yes, herndon, VA's kmart is just as ridiculous with the locked cabinet key holder finding any reason to not come help you...you literally have to chase them down and arm bar them back to the lock.

I have been going there now that Sears/Kmart people are taking a more active role in promoting their sales, especially the ones that are not in a circular, and updating their post at cheapassgamer.com. They even list out their contact names so you can get the specific info you need from them, like the one dude will check stock at a store for you on the computer, as to not alert store staff of a potential deal :)

Ninety Nine Nights 2 releases today, and its on sale for $45...kmart is really trying it would appear...and it worked on me when I bought resonance of fate...because I bought a few other things while I was there, and that's their whole goal here, is the "ad on purchases", I'm sure.

Blur from Bizarre Creations (Activision) has crashed and burned. Just 31,000 sales in the US during five days (from NPD) and poor sales figures from around the globe present a worrying picture for Activision.
Probably hitting the bargain bins sooner rather than later! Honestly I think pricing every console game at $60 is what kills some games that might otherwise do OK.

Best Buy now publishes a magazine called @Gamer. This month had about 145 dollars worth of coupons. Tiger Woods 11 - 20 dollars off. Some older ones as well. Might be worth looking at.

How is the magazine other than the coupons? I'd rather just wait it out and find specific games when the prices come down. I pretty much avoid Best Buy these days especially since I have to pay sales tax there. But good advice I suppose for people who buy a lot of new games!

Probably hitting the bargain bins sooner rather than later! Honestly I think pricing every console game at $60 is what kills some games that might otherwise do OK.
Bad timing really.

Split Second, Mod Nation and Blur were all released at pretty much the same time... I think Blur was the most fun out of those three.
I doubt anyone (besides me) would buy more than just one of them. Arcade/Cart racing games have a much smaller demographic than FPS or action games.

That's assuming that those other two got any sizable sales or not. I haven't looked at actual numbers but I don't think it's really much to do with bad timing as it did the price.

ModNation : 350k
Split/Second : 320k
Blur : 260k

That over a million total...not too shabby if they were a single title.
I think it's pretty obvious they cannibalized each other's sales.

Not really sure it's 'obvious' at least to me. I'm not even sure S/S and Blur are all that similar beyond the obvious racing aspect. Surprised MNR came out on top especially since it was PS3 only.

And that's only 930k which is less than a million!
