Matrix 2.0 Patch

Patch day, may 14th, 2003
Thank you for your patience during our recent changes to the matrix. We appreciate your continued assistance and hope that you will continue to enjoy this product. We have a host of changes for this patch for the upgrade of 2.0
Class Changes
Many changes to the 'The One' class were necessary for the sake of balance. Many skills were removed, others were added. While we will comment on these changes we feel that the majority of them are best left to be discovered by the players.
- Levitate skill added.
- Kung Fu fighting skill cap raised to 252.
- archery has been removed as this skill seemed unimportant to the class.
- morphing has been removed in favor of enhanced speed. Basically there will be no more entering and violently exiting of agents.
- Agents have lost the silence ability. This ability was more of a nuisance than anything, but did create the problem of making phone calls impossible.
NPC Changes
- Agents were found to be inefficent in their current numbers. In many places where you once found two agents you will now find fourty-two or so.
- Taunt increased to 252.
- Agents are no longer offended by the smell of humans. Our developers found that this put the agents at a severe disadvantage during certain encounters with our smellier PC's.
General Changes
- Learning fighting skills will now take slightly longer than previous, even with the use of 'training programs'. In addition, the number of fighting techniques one player can know (excluding 'The One' class) has now been limited to two times your level, whereas the previous cap was 'all of them'.
- The deja vu bug has finally been fixed. There will no longer be a sense of deja vu during spawns, despawns, or any other such immediate changes to your surroundings.
- The blue pill is now no drop. This had caused several problems prior to the fix, that should now be resolved.
- Players have complained about the intense pain caused by removing a tracking device from their navels. As a result more exits for the tracking device have been implemented. See your local drug store for details.
- The oracle has found a new place of residence.
- There is now a spoon.
- We found that players were too easily being able to 'instantly' log off from the matrix, making escape too easy and death a much less likely occurance. Now all calls will involve a 30 second 'hold' period in which you will be entertained by local music. Number of phone jacks decreased in addition to this problem.
- We have recieved many emails about 'the lady in red' NPC. We appreciate the level of feedback and am glad you are excited about this character but she is unavailable outside of the training program and is not available for other activites, despite what has been said. This is unlikely to change in the future.
Graphical Changes
- Previously guns appeared to be firing in some scenes, without shells ejecting from the chamber, or noticable effects on the user or the gun do to recoil. These changes have been fixed.
The 'Legends' Package
This is a general reminder that for those of our more heat generating players, you are available to upgrades in exchange for increased BTU's. These offers include more Agent events, more fame, power, and money, and cleaner care of your embryotic pod. In addition you will gain a wider variety of flavors for your nutrional fluids, and we will make sure that your fluid contains less than 10% of the average amount of recycled human at all times.
