They aren't any different than any other extremists. You'd be surpised how far they fly when hit with a solid stream from a 2 1/2 inch firehose :)

Very cool, I really like that.

Shame on Greenpeace for wanting to improve the conditions of the planet we live on, eh? Tsk tsk. Their methods might not be the best, but their intentions are good.

the road to hell is paved with good intentions...

Their intentions are one step this side of idiocy in a lot of cases.

Their methods are generally two steps to the wrong side of legal as well.

It's a nice picture.

Greenpeace has good intentions. I don't know if I would want to sit at a table with a bunch of vegans with hairy armpits etc and discuss the concerns they have about our planet....but thier intentions are still good.

Even though it's impossible for them to ever acheive what they desire. Most americans would like to save the planet, but that's like so many steps below owning the biggest gas guzzling SUV they can get thier hands on....and until that changes thier efforts are futile.

And that's the primary reason I think they are idiots. But I guess technically that makes them idealists or something....

When you do your best to get into someplace where someone has direct orders to shoot you (or anyone else for that matter), that's idiocy.

I don't have a problem with some of thier causes. Thier methods are idiotic, illegal and absolutely self defeating much of the time, and a waste of thier supporters money. Makes good video clips for the next fundraiser though.

i'm pretty much an environmentalist, but i'm not sure i'd give Greenpeace much money.

i just am not sure how much they are willing to work inside the system to effect change. for me, i dont think a lot of the stunts they pull really help their credibility. it seems like a lot of it is ego driven stuff.

i may be wrong, i'm not expert.

i tend to give organizations like the Audobon Society some cash, because i know they actually fund science that contributes to understanding knowledge of threatened ecosystems and species. not saying Greenpeace doesnt do that, they may, but i know Audobon does.

I saw some good looking girls with hairy pits/legs while I was living in the bay area. It's different, but doesn't really bother me :)

The Audobon society and the like are good organizations. Straight and to the point they are trying to make. Using good science within the system to prove your point is much more likely to gain serious notice and public support. I used to belong to both the Sierra Club and the NRA, until they stopped being truthful in the various campaigns thay ran. I wouldn't give either a cent now.

It says something about greenpeace when the founder of the organization is now the top spokesman for the timber industry in BC.

I consider myself an environmentalist as well. I make a point to miss the trees while blasting down a trail on my loud as hell, 2stroke exaust puffing, 4-wheeler =)

I saw a bumper sticker in Maine last summer:
If you don't like the paper industry, try wiping with plastic

that might say more about what is wrong with people than what is wrong with any particular organization ;)

Voronwe, not if you knew why he left, which was because the organization was doing more harm than good. Acting like militants and crazed tree hugging freaks. Endangering lives of people, in areas where the logging companies in question had already conformed and improved their ways of logging etc (spiking of trees being their main way of causing issues).

There are other reasons as well, however, he knew he could get more accomplished by working WITH the companies and government than trying to sabatoge (sp?) and endanger innocents.

Greenpeace was good back in the early to mid 80's, now they're just completely overboard on most things.
