This is pretty ugly stuff really. For such a popular tool I'm surprised it took so long to find this "feature".

That's pretty fucked. "more than 15 million users" lol yeah right. I don't know anyone who uses TeamViewer really. Everyone I know or have talked to use GoToMyPC or LogMeIn when it comes to managing user desktops. As far as servers its pretty much RDP and VNC.

I use RDP and VNC where needed. I used to use the open source Terminals app to manage, but eventually moved on to a more robust manager called SmartCode VNC Manager. I'm sorry but as a developer, reading about how an app took over a well known port like port 80 just smells of simple incompetence on the part of their software architect.

I tend to use RDP for my servers and we use the integrated console that comes with ScriptLogic Desktop Authority for our user workstations. I had never used this particular piece of software. This particular story has made sure I won't start using it now.
