Milk comes in plastic bags as well as in cartons and jugs.

They had those Milk Bags in Minnesota for a short time it didnt go over well its easier to hold the Jugs like moonshine over the shoulder and drink away.

Smarties are basically chocolate M&Ms (smarties came first tho) except the chocolate in them tastes a lot better.

Whenever I go to the states I'm always surprised at the limited selection at your candy racks. Canadians are sort of used to getting all the american candy plus all the good british stuff from Cadbury-Schweppes.

Yeah, we have Salt and Vinegar chips down here, though I think they are still in the momentum-building process, where in Canada they have been a staple for as long as I can remember. I'm trying to remember the popular brand of chips up there from when I was a kid visiting my uncles, I'm not sure if I remember some sort of cartoon character on the bags or something like that...

While I've seen the Ketchup ones, I've never tried them. For some reason they don't sound very appealing.

You guys also have Donairs (sp?), which are missing from the US. Those were good eatin' when drunk late at night.

There's a fish 'n chips place down in Malibu that serves malt vinegar with fries and such. It's actually very good. An acquired taste, but good nonetheless.

Ketchup is so pedestrian. BBQ sauce has a much bolder, smokier flavor. As for scrambled eggs, I cook mine with hot salsa and a little bit of cheese. That's some tasty shiznit!

Being from Pittsburgh originallyl, I must remind all americans that Heinz Tomato Ketchup is the king of condiments, which can bee found served at over 90% of our countries restaurants. I have also found heinz condiments throughout my travels in Canada....unfortunately, the Canadians have tainted the name of Heinz by having a plant in Quebec, I believe, making the "vegetable" and not importing the good stuff from Pittsburgh.

They have salt and vinegar flavored chips at the subways here in California. I get em occasionally, and I think they're pretty good, but I prefer the cheddar flavored chips that lays makes myself. On a somewhat unrelated topic, the best combination of two food products ever created is Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. Best...restaurant...ever.

Thanks for the page Miir, some good reading. I was shocked the first time I found out they don't have Smarties down there. So many things I think of as normal that you don't find in the states. Milk bags.. had no idea!

The biggest culture shock for me when I've been in the states is coffee. I love Tim Horton's coffee. I go down there, and it's all the crappy, froo-froo coffees from dives like starbucks. Hate the starbucks.

But yea, good site. Some things I didn't even know
