Zombie Movies

Post by Bubba Grizz »

I think we should have a listing of zombie movies. Some of us collect zombie movies. What do you have in your collection? (working from memory...and I'm old)

What I have:
Night of the Living Dead (BW)
Dawn of the Dead (old and new)
Day of the Dead
Land of the Dead
Plane Dead
28 Days Later (not true zombie movie but good)
28 Weeks Later (as above)
Shaun of the Dead
Plane Dead
Resident Evil
Resident Evil: Extinction
Resident Evil: Degeneration

That's all I can remember at this time.

Hmmmm good idea.

Dawn of the Dead (SE box set, 1977)
Dawn of the Dead "remake"
Day of the Dead (SE box set)
Shaun of the Dead
Zombie (Lucio Lulci, 1979, SHARK!)
Resident Evil
Redneck Zombies (Troma, really retarded)
Fido (Brilliant)
Return of the Living Dead
28 Days Later
Dead Set (Brittish Series, excellent)
Zombie Diaries (2006, Brittish low budget, excellent)
Land of the Dead

I will need to get a good copy of Night of the Living Dead.

My zombie movie collection is rather small but growing:

Fido
28 Days later
Day of the Dead
Shaun of the Dead
Dawn of the Dead (remake)
Night of the Living Dead (remake)

Also, I have the season of South Park with the Worcestershire sauce zombie episode.
Make love, fuck war, peace will save us.

Yes, that was the Tom Clancy of zombie themes. An excellent read. Max Brooks made it easy to convert to a screenplay too!

Nice! I ordered that DVD the other day. Hoping it comes today so I can watch it over the weekend. Oh, and I ordered ED:2 alongside it in Blu-Ray. Haven't seen it for ages.

Stacy - Attack of the Schoolgirl Zombies

Zombies - WIN
schoolgirls - WIN WIN
zombie schoolgirls - OH fuck I think I spewed!

heh in all seriousness they were as cheesy as godzilla flicks but the special affects were pretty good. I don't speak Japanese but you don't really need to to follow along. There are several in the series.

Watched a couple more over the weekend.

Tokyo Zombie - another japanese zombie flick. Pretty freaking funny. Top notch comedic acting. Special affects were average but not bad and certainly livable. A very good story based on a japanese comic book. This movie defintiely moved into my top 5 favorites. It didn't get good reviews but has any zombie flick ever had one?

Dance of the Dead - This is a B-movie Grindhouse flick. Acting is sort of over the top in spots but the special effects are pretty good.. This is probably the only Zombie movie EVER that has two zombies making out. Pretty fucking disgusting actually. :P A good way to kill an hour and a half though and I would watch it again. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0926063/

Both above are worth watching. Anyone else got anything to contribute. I will watch just about anything zombie related.

I heard decent things about Tokyo Zombie. I'll have to check it out.

Coming soon, we have what looks to be another excellent swedish film, Dead Snow. A group of medical students goes on a ski trip and happen upon Nazi Zombies. It's a horror/comedy ala Shaun of the Dead. Here is the trailer.

You can check out the Jap movie, Versus. That has a shitload of zombies. I picked up the steelbook DVD "Ultimate Versus" and I guess it has an entire hourish more footage than the regular version. So, add Versus to the zombie list!

Watched Fido and half of Zombie Strippers over the weekend. Fido is a very good movie. Think Pleasantville meets Shaun of the Dead and you have a very funny movie with some big names in it. Carrie Anne Moss, Billy Connolly and a slew of talented supporting actors.

I only got through half of Zombie Strippers. So far it is just a bunch of pole dancing. Acting was pretty bad but at least it had a lot of nice tits in it. Robert Englund makes a funny character too.

Fido is a very good movie.
Wow, I totally forgot about that one.
I knew a number of people who worked on it so I actually went out to see it in the theatres.
A delightful movie!

I watched Zombie Diaraies the other day. Not very good. Not very good at all. It used the Blair Witch shakey cam and showed 3 groups of survivors and how they intersected one another after the zombie uprising. Sounds good on paper, but I could barely make it through the movie, and that's a rare thing for me.

Yeah, you will have to D/L it.

Didn't like Zombie Diaries? I thought it was a really fun low-budgetter. Then again, I was pretty easy on Diary of the Dead. Yes, both Romero and the 'Diaries people totally bombed on the shaky-cam theme. It is old and used up like The Beverly Hills Diet. Throw that glaring crap aside and there is something to enjoy. Of course, getting past that is pretty tough do to the nausea!

I'm working on a whole bunch of Horror movie reviews. I'm hitting more of the older and independent films. Because of that fact, my movie viewing has been very hit or miss lately :)

When Halloween comes around and I get my forum back, I'm going to try and post a movie review a day. Suffice it to say, I've discovered several zombie movies that don't seem to have made anyone's list so far. Some of them are even good!
