After watching
The Visitor, which I highly recommend viewing, I'm considering purchasing a djembe drum. Does anyone have any experience with such a drum? I've got my eye on
this one.

I used to have an ashiko and bongos but usually played a djembe when I played with friends.
There's quite a few drum circles in my area.

Fun to play, and you can change the sound from subtle to drastic just by altering your technique. Don't own one, but I'm planning to for sure. For now I've been banging on my bro-in-law's djembe, and it's great. Even more fun accompanying another musician just improvising on guitar or any instrument, really. Also, drum circles...if you can join one do it, very cool experience. If you play for extended amounts of time you might consider wrapping your fingertips with sports tape if they get sore very easily (I know mine do after a short time).

I don't own a djembe, but one of my best friends has a couple of them (his uncle makes custom djembes). They are very fun and satisfying to play especially with other people- just like you see in Visitor (GREAT movie). My friend has taken me to several drum circles and I always enjoyed banging on a djembe the most.

My djembe drum has arrived.
I can now beat something other than my meat.
I highly recommend everyone get one.
