Looking for some good game titles, I have all 3 game consoles.....Has anyone seen the Mech warrior type game for the Xbox that needs its own controller, 36 button, 3 foot pedals and i think 2 joysticks? I saw it in a game informer mag but my darling wife tossed it by accident.

Thanks!!

Lor;

The mech game you speak of is Steel Battalion. I have it on order and hopefully will have it within the next couple of weeks. I'll let you know what it's like then. I'm eagerly awaiting it because I really need a new game to play for like 60 min stints at a time.

A good Xbox game would be Splinter Cell. I found it too easy to finish though, but still I quite enjoyed it. Mech Assault is not bad, but the multiplayer got boring after 30 mins because everything is pretty much fire and forget seeking crap.

Kguku, Thanks for the info! also, does the game come with the controller or do you have to get them seperately? also what does the whole thing cost?

I have been more in favor of the sega sports games although I have no beef with EA's.

Hitman 2 is a great game as is Splinter Cell. NBA Street is a fun game as well and it only sells for $20.

I'll agree with The Two Towers for PS2, that was a lot of fun. I also had a lot of fun with Dead To Rights on the Xbox, though that may be better just to rent, only took a couple days to beat it. I'm drawing a blank on other games, been playing too much eq lately.

my takes on SB in a couple different threads before -

For X-box

Tony Hawk 4 (10x better graphics than ps2, plus the fact that you can rip your own CD's to mp3 on the hard drive, then play them back within the game)
Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball - actually a good game once you get past the flesh (if you want to)
Blinx the time sweeper - fun in the crash/sonic/etc genre - utilizes your Xbox as a tivo since you have full control of time.
Serious Sam - for when you want to mindlessely blast shit into oblivion and look good doing it. No depth to the story at all, but the scenery is awesome, and the humor is very 'Ash'y (Evil Dead Ash, not forgot lotion ash)

It's $199 USD for the game, and it comes with the controller.

I figure I'll have to buy one of those wooden TV tables to hold the controller, heh.

I thought it was cool but Bloody Roar for Gamecube is better than that if you ahve the option imo.

Mortal Kombat wasn't as fun as 2 and 3 were, one fatality per person is kind of lame in this day and age o.O

Yeah, I thought there was a great lack of fatalities. I was very surprised when I learned that there really only was one per person, maybe my xbox version will let me download more or something.

GC: Super Smash Bros Melee. Hands down the best fighting game ever made.

Hitman 2 for PS2 <--- This game kicks that ass
Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball for X-Box ;)

Halo for Xbox has to be on someone's list... it has been out for well over a year and is STILL at full price, if that says anything to anyone. Halo is a bad ass game, especially if you are on a college campus where you can get other people interested in it. A group of my friends play over the school network and own everyone. Also, Halo 2 is coming out this spring, so might want to wait on that.

Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry 2
Ratchet and Clank (cool platformer)
Legend of Zelda (on GC looks like a new cartoon will be oyt in Feb)
MechAssault (it's all about being online)
Guilty Gear x2 ( I think is the new title, should be out in the next few months)
Skies of Arcadia 2 (GC great roleplaying game that came from the DC and Saturn)

Those are my personal pics

Unreal Tournament, Halo, Time Splitters 2-XBox
Hitman 2, SOCOM-US Navy Seals-PS2

First person shooters are where its at, and those are really what I think are the cream of the crop. Hitman is just a fun game to go and kill random people.

$199 for the GAME? that's the cost of an Xbox or PS2.

DMC is about 20$, one of the "best sellers".
DMC 2 is brand new, and damn good.
Only complaints about both are the camera angels and the difficulties of the combos.. oh, and don't do DMC1 at night, heh.
GTA: Vice City for PS2 pwns.
MK Deadly Alliance is also of the own.

Metroid Prime for the GC.
Eternal Darkness - Sanity's Reuiem is a good game to rent. Buy is iffish. This game WILL play with your head.

I have an xbox and Ps2. Some of my favorites are...

Ps2: Sly Cooper, DMC 1/2, Grand Theft Auto, Ico (one of my all time favorite games).

Xbox: Dragon Lair 3d, Madden, Morrowind, Panzer Dragon Orta (currently playing jpn version, very cool game).

Right?

Ico is one of my favorite PS2 games as well, if you can find it.

Also, GTA3 and GTA Vice City are two of my favorites.

I really like Dead To Rights, but don't get the Xbox version unless you enjoy pulling your hair out by the root and screaming in incoherent rage at the TV every 5 minutes. The super hard difficulty level that you unlock after beating the PS2 or Gamecube version is substantially easier than the Xbox version's default difficulty.

Devil May Cry is awesome, but I played DMC2 a little yesterday and I wasn't too impressed with it.

Tony Hawk 4 is really fun.

Steel Battalion is worth the money if you are really into giant robots.

Bubba Grizz wrote:$199 for the GAME? that's the cost of an Xbox or PS2.
Yup. But remember you're getting like the super duper mech controller from hell.

2 sticks, 40 buttons, throttle control + pedals. The thing is like 3 feet wide, heh. All it's lacking is force feedback!

I'm really looking forward to my copy coming in!

Splinter Cell for XBox was great, and I'm told Ghost Recon is as well - but I haven't gotten it. I plan on picking it up this month.

THE GETAWAY

nuff said..
oh and expect the word "fuck" to come up at least 10 to 15 times during each part of the game

Xou;

Ghost Recon pretty much blew. Lots of frame rate issues and the online play is bugged to shit with the matching service.

I liked the PC version, but was not impressed with the Xbox version.

I dont own any game systems(last one i had was GameGear, hehe)..
but through my friends ive played Gamecube, Xbox, and Ps2. My favorites are Xbox/PS2, then Gamecube. For xbox i really enjoyed halo and splinter cell. For ps2 i loved kingdom hearts and ffx(sqyare soft games have always impressed me). Gamecube hasnt done OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS for me yet, though the zelda game coming out looks fucking awesome.

Id go with Xbox because of the ammount of money they seem to be spending on buying out game producing companies for that system =p. I think that Xbox actually started out the weakest of the three, but will become the best system, simply because of the ammount of money behind the system. PS2 is the best right now though IMO, but i think Xbox may surpass it.

Xbox's controllers are the suck!

PS2 games: GTA Vice City, Madden 2003, MK: Deadly Alliance, and basically every thing else people mentioned above.

Speaking of DMC2.
Dante's ending is the suck. Now, I don't know if it changes after you beat the second disk, but I was most disapointed with what he did at the end.

Tho there is one line I am not going to forget.
"King?"
/pulls out guns
"Here's your crown."
/two shots, sends the duche through a glass window

Personally, I'm a huge fan of Virtua Fighter 4 for the PS2

Burnout 2 was a bit of fun for a while...good drunken racing game
