So I'd never heard of him until Guitar Hero 2, and even after that I never really listened to anything of his. For whatever reason, during the downloading rampage I've been on I downloaded all his cd's. He fucking owns, seriously!
The guy is talented as hell, I like how almost all the albums are themed, and even though most don't have words, you really can visualize the theme of that album. I'm listening to Bucketheadland Vol. 2 right now and the music does make me think of a crazy theme park filled with psycho's, but it's great!
I like it a lot because it's obviously really talented guitar work, but without a lot of the screaming that usually goes along with heavier guitar like he does a lot of the time.
Anyhow, I just thought I'd share that. Any other fans out there? If you like rock music/kickass guitar and haven't heard of him before I would give him a listen!

Hasn't he released like 25 albums?
He's insanely talented but much of his music is not very enjoyable to listen to.

I've got 30 albums of his on my iPod - a good handful of them are just live performance/compilation stuff that might not necessary have been a real album.
I've liked most of what I've listened to, but I've probably only listened to 25-30% of the songs so far. He does have a lot of skits, but they generally add to the theme of the album nicely.

He has (something like, it's hard to track really) 38 solo albums, but he's currently in 5 bands, collaborates with other artists (including Viggo Mortensen), and his been in a shitton of bands in the past.
I really like the work he did with Les Claypool (Primus), they fit real well. I enjoy him in general, but I can't take it in large doses (listening to nothing but Buckethead for a week or two).
I would be REAL interested to hear a collaboration between Buckethead and John5. They are both insanely talented with similar styles/influences, although that might be guitarmageddon.

Damn, I'll have to find what I'm missing! I have a few of the albums he's done with various other people/bands but I'm sure I don't have them all.

Here are two discographies. Neither have the complete release info for 2008 (he had multiple releases this year), but both are pretty thorough.

Same discography, just sorted differently, depending on what you're looking for.

This one helps to cross ref as it details whether items in the above lists were EP's, official bootlegs, etc.
