I feel a triple championship crown coming to Arizona within the next two years. NFL, MLB and NBA!

Peterson will get injured in week 2 now. He'll be out at least 6 weeks.

Winnow isn't significant enough to be more than an occasional laugh for the Sports Gods. I mean FFS he cheers for all Arizona teams and nothing else : thats not a curse its masochism.

I heard that Farve is on the cover of the new Madden (I have not seen it or gone looking). If that's the case, I hope that the Madden curse is broken this year since I am a Bucs fan :) If he goes anywhere else then "curse on!"

Thanks, Winnow....

ENGLEWOOD — Normally, a late-round rookie running back getting hurt in training camp wouldn’t be big news. But this is the Denver Broncos, who always seem to unearth a gem in the backfield that everyone else overlooked.

So, the mood was melancholy Wednesday when rookie Ryan Torain, a fifth-round draft pick out of Arizona State, broke a bone in his left elbow when he was flipped while rushing during 9-on-7 drills.

“It’s a big loss. A big loss,” coach Mike Shanahan said, figuring Torain would miss 6-8 weeks, depending on the results of an MRI.

“I thought he had a chance to compete to be a starting running back. One of the most gifted running backs that I’ve been around for a long time. Very similar to Terrell Davis when he came in,” Shanahan said.
Oh, this is not a good start.

edit: Hopefully he can recover quickly and be a force late in the season or at least next season. fucking bummer--I don't think Hall and Young can carry the load...

He would have lead the league in rushing. There goes my first round Fantasy Football pick.

No doubt.... I don't think I have ever heard Shanny compare any of his backs to Terrell Davis before--even guys like Clinton Portis. Of course, the Broncos O-line is kind of up in the air....

However, a curse is a curse....so much for a 2000 yard rusher this year. :(

The Anti-Winnow Sports Theory (from now on will be the AWST) is strong! Sorry it had to be Denver Cane....but you knew it was coming.

Oh, I knew it was coming. The curse started well before it became clear that Winnow was the cause.

Brandon Marshall gone for 2-3 games.... meh. And of course Denver hosts those pro-bowl faggorts from San Diego in W2.

Maybe Denver will pick up Marcel Shipp. He was released by the Cardinals earlier this week!

Say what you want, sir, but I will NOT be blackmailed!

And I am not terribly concerned about the wideouts--royally covered there, imo.

Dammit that sucks about Torrain!

Just to revisit......there was a head to head matchup this weekend of the AWST vs the Madden Curse. Brett Favuhruh throwing 6 TD passes in an absolute destrction of Winnow's team. Anyone wanting to rethink their vote?

Winnow Curse update (on one prediction/bet at least, because I found the debate on the issue interesting) :

Tomlinson: 77 carries 296 yards 3.8 avg 4tds
10 rec 58 yards 5.8 avg 0 tds

Peterson: 83 carries 420 yards 5.5 avg 3 tds
9 rec 52 yards 5.8 avg 0 tds

Pretty even right now (1 has more yards, 1 has 1 more td). Tomlinson's foot is still hurt, so his numbers should go up slowly.

That's no excuse. Adrian Peterson has had a bad hammy since he was born.

Peterson's ahead. 124 yards > 1 TD in just about any Fantasy Football League.

It's not an excuse, it was more of a fact about the situation, and the future of it.

Anyways, normally every 10 yds = 1 point, and a td = 6, so Peterson is ahead by about 6 points...which I would call pretty even when either of these backs could have a break out game at any time.

Winnow was powerful yesterday.

Mets lost to the Flaaridas and Milwaukie got some love from Lou Pinella. Mets out of playoffs.

Broncos got trounced by a sickly and emaciated Chiefs team. also, I think one of the Broncos special teamers was killed during the game.

Anquan Boldin's family is searching house by house for Winnow right now. Updates to be seen on CNN.

Those throw back uniforms the Jets wore looked too much like Rams uniforms. Screwed up Kurt Warner!

I thought they looked more like older Oregon Ducks uniforms.
