My ex-gf whom I'm still close to was in a bad car accident thursday morning. 2 rolls and a flip landing on the hood, seatbelt wasn't fully clicked in and she bounced around the inside of the car sliding with it a little bit with her body on the window of the passenger side giving her nice road rash, glass, thorns, and sticks up her left side. She stopped with her feet on the dash above the wheel, her head and body in the back seat behind the passenger seat which had collapsed forward and her right arm was pinned underneath the car and she managed to pull it out and it's the only part of her body with no scratches or bruises on it which is weird.
She has 2 vertebrae fractures and tons of cuts and bruises. The 6th lumbar vertebrae will heal quickly but her 11th is severe and will possibly require surgery. She's in an upper body cast, it's like a 2 part turtle shell, where there back velcrows to the front and she is on pain killers and such.
Today she was able to get up and walk which I was amazed along with the doctor who was almost certain that she was going to need surgery. He said he's never seen anyone get up and walk around so quickly after such a severe fracture of her vertebrae and it's looking less and less like she will require surgery but the cast, with or without surgery, will be on for 12 weeks minimum.
If you pray and wouldn't mind making space for one more her name is Kelly and I would appreciate it greatly.
