Did Firefox 3 just go retail?

I was running 3 RC2 at work and this morning it downloaded an unprompted update.
Now all my RC2 mentions are gone and the executable is dated today. The only issue is that their site still says V2.0.14 is the latest.

I thought I read something about the day FF3 was released, they were trying to set a record for most ever downloads in a day. If it had gone gold, I would have assumed there would have been a lot more press.

I just read on Paul Thurott's blog that Download day is June 17th. That would be the go-live date for V3 as well.

I have RC1 and there's no mention of "RC" in the "about" menu pop up.
I'm in no rush to upgrade to the final. RC1 is working great and is downloading add-on updates automatically as it should, etc.
I'm having DNS issues this morning though. I had to add two free DNS servers temporarily. Probably just a Cox DNS server issue.

How compatible are the add-ons? Are most getting updated or are creators waiting for the 3 release?

These all work:
AdBlock Plus
Batch Download
Piclens: (best way in the known universe for viewing images on the web)
QuickDrag: (open links in a new tab by drag and releasing)
TabMixPlus: (open bookmarks, address bar entries, history, search bar, and everything else imaginable in a new tab instead of in the same tab you're presently on)
At most, if you have some sort of special theme you're attached to, it might not be updated for FF3. The default theme is better than the old one though so I don't miss my Blue Ice theme and can wait until it's updated.

Why are you using the word retail?... I was hoping it was a one-time typo when the thread started, because it implies they're starting to charge for a free product. It didn't go retail, it has been released.
/nazi off

I kinda considered the terms interchangeable personally, without really looking at definitions.

I just went to firefox.com and clicked the button to download firefox 3.0. Do you mean that it still says RC3 somewhere within the program, after install?

I was looking for it on their products page, they have not updated their entire site with the current version yet (fucking slackers.)
Thanks, found the link on firefox.com
