Post by Sirensa »

Did you guys find new homes yet?

Sirensa busy levelling since Ziame homeless and bored, so if you need me, can look there.

Or are you both in AOC? And if so, is it fun?

Sent in my app to LCN site. Been playing AoC a bit. Ash and I were playing a bit last night. It is pretty cool, but still not enough to draw me away from the eq2! :D I will be playing this weekend (eq2) more than Conan, most likely. Will be on tonight also, as I am a hermit for a bit. :)

Not yet. I applied as well, but when I looked Wednesday they were clearing trash in SoH and then I didn't see many folks on last night (non-raid night, which is why Rich and I said fuck it and fired up AoC), but mind you I was doing / LCN all, so anon folks would be (surprise!) anon. I'll look again for them tonight. I'd like to see something happen here or at least do an instance.

Pretty much!

There was much drama, then Elkay split to a different server and there had been some attrition as well...then rebuilding, then stable, then more attrition, etc... the usual! :)

That's an understatement. More like a giant collassal dump.

Elkay was running it on Guk and server transferred with no warning to most players. He dumped guildleader on me (fuck that!) and all but 1 other officer deguilded. Sylvos deguilded right before this all happened - he wanted to join Kilmoll and LCN.

Managed to do about 3 semi-successful tier 1 raids before I decided to bail as well. The people in the guild are nice, but will struggle, and likely fail, in attempting to move past tier 2. And actually RUNNING a guild is way more effort than I want to take right now.

Soooo I SEKRITLY (straight up ninja style meetinz in the dark alley corners) PM'd Ash and Coho (aka Canelek) and told them I planned to bail and to find new homes. Since Sylvos and I were the ones who nagged them to play in the first place, I didn't wanna be an evil bitch (moreso than I already am) and dump them.

Gave them the fair warning and bailed. I've heard at least 3 others have deguilded or planned to just quit since.

Meanwhile... in the weeks prior to this, we'd all been plotting Elkay's demise regardless, but he took a lot of good players with him when he bailed. So PLOT FOILED. Course plot was led by a stoner... so what to expect!

Steps Remaining on Ze Club O'Doom
(A Sleeping Stone: Dark Enlightenment)The first is Hulgren, Spirit of Wisdom. His Altar can be found in Everfrost at location -225, 5, -353, near the stags and numbfoots.

1. Hulgren sends you to find an ancient tome located somewhere in Kunark. The Tome is in Vaults of Eternal Sleep in the left trap before the door to endboss there. You must have completed the quest The Whispers of Death to pick up the tome. So do not even go to VOES without having the language quest done.
2. After this you have to go back to the altar in Everfrost and then locate some spirit wood in Kylong Plains (looks like ordinary wood, but is called "a branch of spiritwood" - known locations are in the woods near the Fens of Nathsar zoneline (-1498, 14, -362),(-936, 40, -839), (-1104, 10.51, -397) and near Braktyr's Post (280, 76, -924) Also just found at -64, 31, -414. To harvest the spiritwood your Foresting skill needs to be 300+.
In retrospect, I could piggyback on a completed instance to grab this if someone wants to play tour guide. I've been in Vaults all of once.
After you got all parts of the weapon go back to Grandfather Takk in Graystone Yard he builds a pre version of the weapon and returns your Eye of Thalger. You´ve to go back with grp to The Shattered Vale in Antonica to the instance "The Hidden vale" . Kill the spirits then the named (before he´s down MAY become invisible - use your Eye of Thalger to see to finally kill him - group members won't be able to see your target but can strike and cast on the mob while targeting you). Equip the pre version of your weapon and click the altar - you are done with the legendary part of the quest.
[edit] Reward

* Cudgel of Obviation
So I'm pretty damn close! Probably an hour's work or so (depending on how much time it takes me to find the spiritwood and whether or not I need a full Vaults run)

Mythical:
Return to Grandfather Tokk in Graystone Yard to pick up the next portion of the quest (for the mythical version of the weapon), which requires you to retrieve three fetishes to fully unlock the powers of the cudgel. These all drop from raid targets.
The first is the Fetish of Spirituality, which drops from Pawbuster in The Execution Throne Room.
The Second is the Fetish of Preservation, which drops from Venril Sathir in his lair.
The Third is the Fetish of Enlightenment, which drops from Hoshkar in Veeshan's Peak.

Someone somewhere has to have an open Vaults instance when you're looking. Can probably check level 80 chat or maybe even 70-79 for someone who can help. Offer some plats or something as incentive if no one is feeling helpful!

Worst case we have to run the instance - which isn't a huge deal.

Just lemme know if you need me to help.

Don't forget zee language part ! (That would be a sylvos mistake :P)

I've been sidelined this whole VP trip, which I don't terribly mind because I have other things to do at the moment, but hope it doesn't:

a. Count against me (I told Warbringerr I was present each night)
b. Happen every time (Hey, I still want to be able to play with my friends and the alternative is to guild in <Free Drinks> and play with your alts when you're camped out... no offense, but that wasn't my goal)

Mind you I realize I missed Leviathan Saturday (Hey, I knew I was going to miss that day a month ago, thanks Sylvos for logging me in for flagging), so we'll see. It gets lonely being the only one online in the alt guild.

Your attendance gets counted every time you show up whether you are actually in the raid or not. You also can get lewtz if you are not in the raid. I am sure you can get a metric shit ton of nice gear simply because other people don't want to spend DKP on it. (and in LCN the DKP really doesn't mean jack shit)

In all fairness, the targetting can be a touch slow at times. MA is not an easy job for shit like that!

Here is a small list of why we had issues that time:

1. AoE timers - at least 4 times it was completely ignored or forgotten
2. A couple folks were not paying attention, nor practicing caution if they were unsure of AoE incoming, even when 10 second warning was announced
3. Unneccessary chatter from non-raid leaders in /ra...
4. Cluttered vent chat towards end, ansy-pantsy shit like that

Need to provide happy pills to some folks, because they are starting to piss me off. If we just had some select few paying the fuck attention, there would be no issues. Granted, mistargetting to drakes certainly is not a good thing, but a tab-target by MA should be avoided so that shit doesn't happen.

Simple mistake on assist, no biggie. It is the other shit that concerns me.

Meh, we'll get her Sat, unless a bunch of homos decide to take vacations. ;)
