It's projected to make less than 20 million for it's opening weekend, coming in 3rd overall for the week (1 - Iron Man, 2 - What Happens in Vegas). Iron Man made 15 million on Friday, it's second week in release, and Speed Racer is expected to come in under 20 million for it's entire 3 day weekend. It's budget was around 160 million.

Personally, I have no desire to see this one at the theater, but I plan on getting it on DVD. I'm uncertian why this one failed to grab me. I know nothing about the cartoon, but that's never stopped me before. I guess auto racing in general is pretty lame to me, even if it's in the future with weapons.

Their neat camera trick (everything in focus, like a cartoon) wasn't enough for me to pay for it in theaters.

not much of a trick since it was all shot on green screen

im pretty high right now so im not sure, but isnt this in the wrong forum?

i will see this on dvd
