What is your max download with your current service, who is it and where at?
I just upgraded to RoadRunner highspeed and get 960 KB/Sec. I have seen it hit 1 MB/sec a few times but not often.

I also get digital HD cable with HBO. $65/month for broadband and cable.

12Mb\sec down, 2 Mb upload, about what they say I'll get at my service level. When I had a faster service level, always delivered as it should.

I've hit over 3Mb/sec though this is not 'normal'. Id say normal for me is around 550k/sec.

There's a big difference between 3Mb/s and 3MB/s, 550k/s and 550K/s. How are we to know which you mean? (it's kind of obvious in the second example, but still, I'm a tech nazi.)

I think there are some misconceptions/ignorance occuring in this thread.
First of all, I am asking what your DL rate is, in KILOBYTES per second. (1KB = 8Kb, 8 bits in a byte)
Windows displays your download in KB or Kilobytes. My max is 980KB. Clear enough? I see some people saying they get 2000 KB on cable and I am really suspect of that.... I'll chalk it up to ignorance.

nowhere in this first post do I see a request for the speed in kilobytes. I stand by my 12.61 millions of bits per second.
However, that would be 1576.25 KB/sec or 1.576 MB/sec ( 3750 KB/sec or 3.75 MB/sec burst speed)
KB/sec are speed measurements for those that can't break 1000KB/sec. (the little people)

So yeah, around 2500 KB/s -> RCN Cable in the Lehigh Valley. Only really happens with well seeded torrents, or surprisingly filefront.

So? 80mbit/66mbit is insanely awesome... That's 53 T1's downstream, 44 T1's upstream... and a ping of 5ms?... uber (corporate network, obviously)
Back in 1997 right out of high school I worked for a dialup ISP that had a single T1.

Edit: oh, missed that you posted (i fail, i thought this thread started with the first speedtest.net)
And damn...even on a corporate network, 88Mbps is insane.

FYI, your place of work is showing in the description graphic if you do the test from work.
I haven't seen a McDonalds yet but just in case you don't want that to show, don't do it from work (unless remote connected to your home).
