My recent was a fall through the world just outside velks. Summoned my horse, backed up a little to target someone, finishing up pre-buffs to going into velks, then AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaah, bam, you've been hit by 20000 points of non-melee damage. Fuckers, just as I got a fresh EEIII KEI and level 60 cleric buffs. I hate being a professional tester.

i think i 10k'd jumping off the ledge at Dozekar once. yeah that was fun.

most fun 10k story is trying to time the very last point where you can click your levitate ring when wizard spires paratrooping.

I'm sure a lot of old veterans share mine. My first 10k fall was my most memorable. I believe it was during Beta 3 or 4. I had reached the stellar level of 8 and had decided to venture from Rivervale to Qeynos. The first time going down the cliffs in WK was a fatal one

Second time it happened to me was the first day of Velious. Running around exploring in EW....I sure didn't see that huge cut in the ice leading to Kael.....ouch!

Thought I'd try and test out my safefall ability with my halfling rogue Chub. I climbed the wizard spire in G.Fay and took the plunge. Oops. Not sure if it was 10k damage or not but it was more than enough to kill me.

Jumping around on the ring in GD I was able to get onto the wall of the ring. From there I jumped up onto the dragon. Got all the way up onto the head of the dragon and jumped straight up. I jumped for all of a quarter second and 10kd with my corpse still stuck on top of the dragon.

During my short stint as a bard, I remember using the bard travel song with levitation taking my group from the Dreadlands Wizard ring to Karnors. As everyone knows, you get some serious elevation travelling with levi from the DL tunnel to Karnors. As members of my group went out of range for my speed/levi song, they began to plummet to their deaths.

A close second to that was killing 4 pets in my group at once with invis song, having the group recast their pets, then accidentally hitting the invis song again and wiping the pets out a second time. What a happy group that was : )

The night we smacked Lord Vyemm, the first AE Gflux he procs... Gaklek goes flying, and lands on the clerics... BAM! 10k. Thanks trademark of our raids.

Just about any 10k fall from the Deep invis bridge is pretty funny.

next AE i 10k'd right on top of gak's bod. there must be some magic spot where if you bounce off the roof/wall right you are dead, cause i was literally in the identical spot.

don't recall it ever happening on any other vyemm fight than that particular one though.

Most embarrasing 10K fall was when I confidently offered to lead my group across EW. We zoned in from IC and I set off with the rest of the group on AF. Unfortunately I preempted the end of the ice bridge, veered to the right, plummeted to my death while spectacularly taking the rest of the group with me.

When I was playing my gnome paladin I zoned over from bazaar to SH and went afk while zoning. When I got back 2-3 people had killed themselves tripping over me. Not 10k but dead is dead.

The entrance to Kael is another falling death spot. I got a good laugh watching Aslanna speeding along and then disappearing over the wall. Lag was blamed!

Frontier Mountains, running to the giant fort at 2am in the morning. I had illusion air elemental on while I was sitting at the zone and didn't realize it had worn off while I went afk. Took me an hour to find my body at the bottom.

I've 10k'd jumping off the NK spires trying to click my singing steel boots right before I landed. Worst for me I think was lguk in the assassin room with my ogre. I hated that camp, every time I tried to run down the ladder to leave or chase a mob I'd get jammed on the ladder then fall for 10k.

I 10k'ed in Td once. I was with an old guild in my lower 50 days. It was that one night when there was some new mobs in td in the back of ogre island and my guild was first to know. They didnt really drop that great items but thats when the memorable frss dropped. That and i also got a very easily obtained eb item. But anyways I was on that mountain with a levi thinking hell i'll just fall into the water from all the way up here, that should surprise them. Well i didnt judge the distance too well and landed on the base of the mountain, RIGHT next to the water.

I read a story of a guy taking screenshots of himself jumping off the big spires in DL, and then instaclicking the mage lev rings right before landing. One time he had forgotten he had the mage targeted and when clicked the ring it tried to lev the mage. Then he died.

Back when WC was *the* most common place to find a druid...

Whole group ports in, 4 of 6 10k from a totem pole of a raid that must have ported in, the other 2 took repetetive falling damage until they died since it was impossible to move out of the stack.

now i remember the one that pissed me off the most. was about lvl 29-34 doing Mistmoore castle, and Bridget evac'd us out when i pulled a train, but since my hp were underneath the +item-hp number, i went to the safe point in the zone (not the druid rings), which in Butcherblock happened to be way up the side of a cliff, pretty much at the top of the 3d space in the zone. at any rate healed myself up, but couldnt do anything so just fell to my death.

got a soul mark for cussing out Solaris after i petitioned....no wait that was when LF crashed and the castle was massacring people who couldnt zone out of Mistmoore. dickhead wouldnt give GM rezzes to people who died cause the zone out wasnt workin.

you could feel your heart sink when you ran to the zone line and ran right through it and see the red text of a ghoulish ancille beating on you still

Walking through Warsliks Woods, clip plane down totally, nighttime in EQ, just exploring. Next thing I see is myself going down.. and down.. and down.. with a splat.. about level 32, 33. Petition, think it's a bug.

Guide / GM (Tinket, I think) offers to rez me after I peition.. I come back to life at the bottom of this huge ass canyon that I swear wasn't there!

Pre Kunark, I was tooling around in Everfrost when I went LD on my way to Halas, I believe. I get back in game to find myself at the very top of sound steep mountain, I'm sure I could never climb if not for LD. I look around, and take one step. I fell so fast and so hard, I couldn't even find my corpse. Twenty minutes later, I finally got my corpse back.

And yes, the ledge in EK to Highpass sucks! I remember my first run from Qeynos to Freeport when I got too close. SPLAT! That was a long CR.

Oggie got stuck while swimming in the water near the spiders in UGuk. Must have wiggled through the map: next thing I know, 10K splat.

My druid one time fell at the last possible spot heading up to highpass. I swear it felt like he was free falling for 30 secs. Oh yeah, /bonk me for not having lev cast.

My first 10k death was in E Karana back in the day. The one that really stands out:
Was on my way to ToV, running through WWastes and I had SoE on. As soon as I went over the valley, WHAM! Dropped in a blink of an eye.

I was bored one night so I made my way to the northern wall in Scarlet Desert with a ranger and his BFG.. levitated both of us and made our way to the top.. once there i dueled him so he could use the knockback effect on BFG to shoot me off the edge.

My most recent 10k far came when I was running through the Emerald Jungle up in the area where Severilous spawns. I was had just gotten my horse and I was omw towards the druid evac spot. I had this bright idea to go galloping off the ledge that connectst he upper and lower parts of the zone on my horse while traveling at bard speed......splat!

The thing that gets me is....it's not even high enough to be considered a 10k fall spot....I guess being on the horse at high speed had something to do with it. /shrug

Funniest 10k fall was not done by me but by a friend. We were in EW farming crap for coldain rings and he had to go to the bank in CC for some items. Someone who had gone with him says "Shit, so-and-so died somehow". So when the 10ker gets to his bind point he's laughing his ass off. Apparaently he had gotten something like 10k cp from the bank and was going to split it with me to fuck with my weight...problem is, the 6" fall going down one step killed him

Back when Velious first came out, I was leading a small group on an exploration of Velks(back when you could sit alone in the zone for hours on end). For the life of us, we could not figure out how to get past the "icewall" where you can see part of the castle and the golems.

Of course, we completely missed the hidden passages to gain that access, but hell, we had no idea... Anyway, I went for a running jump to try and land on a path and fell all the way down for the splat

With the Jan28 patch im suprised this thread hasnt influxed in posts. Was in velks, was clearing way to his room, we were outside and i suddenly got gfluxed our of nowhere really way up. Avoided the 20k by barely landing on one of the tower like things there.
