OK, so I had a conversation with some people on another forum I post on about guys and cunnilingus and I want to use you guys as a test case. So, I posted a poll. Note that this assumes an ideal relationship/sex situation for you where the female is receptive, so no "it depends on the girl" kind of answers.

Personally I don't understand men who have issues performing oral sex, but I'm curious at how pervasive this mindset is, especially in this day & age.

I've been with 2 guys like that, both who were about 30 years old and I kicked them both to the curb, primarily because of that. One of them I tried to work with him on it, but he wouldn't even try it and I got tired of him implying that my most treasured body part was disgusting. But he was also a "missionary" man and sex was insanely mechanical, so I suspect his issues ran a lot deeper than "pussy is icky."

Oral is a good measuring stick of sexuality IMO. Of course, there are varying degrees of sexual freedoms, perversions, and kink. I would never seriously date a woman that did not give head. Throughout the years, I've added a couple more sexual "must haves" before I would be completely happy with my partner. We all have our sexual "must haves", but some have more than others. The trick is to never settle. Ever. If you do, you will regret it, and either harbour resentment or end up going to someone who can/will fullfill those needs.

Yeah, but I'm talking about guys who haven't even been down below. The women in our community are pretty savvy when it comes to vaginal hygeine anyway, so I don't see that as an issue. I think the cleanliness/smell excuse is over-used and all it does is make women more insecure about themselves. Beyond natural sweat and healthy secretions, as long as a women showers daily and doesn't have an infection, everything should be palatable.

In my experience, tongue is a treat any woman can appreciate. Cunny isn't necessary, but so useful that avoiding it is stupid. What keeps me away other than bad smell is inappropriate hair. I wouldn't expect her to want to slobber all over my hairy balls. Properly maintain plz!

You even pointed out that it can be related to other health issues, and those may not even be easily recognized by the woman unless she checks into it once being told. Bathing daily isn't enough to take care of that type of issue, and if it hurts their feelings to hear, maybe they should think about how it could actually be a sign of something else going on with their bodies.

I didn't include lesbians or bi chicks because they have vaginas and the issue I'm trying to understand is vaginal phobia in straight men. I've never heard of a lesbian or bi chick think vaginas were gross.

I chose option 1. I enjoy it. I'm very much a giver in that aspect.

I've also long felt that the majority of our community is not representative of the majority of 'average people.' Which may help explain why a seeming majority of 'average guys' have issues, and almost none on this board do (or admit to them anyways).

The smell/taste thing definitely can be an issue.. I can think of one case in particular where it stopped me from spending much time down there. It may not be their fault that it stinks/taste's funky, but I'm just saying that in the case that you run across stank pussy, it's tough to sit there and munch on it (again, I've only ran into this once, so I'm not saying it's really common or a sole reason to not go down on women.)

I wouldn't say I *love* doing it but I like to, and have made a point to be (at least I think) pretty good at doing it. I don't know a whole lot of guys personally that flat out refuse to go down on a girl, especially someone they are in a relationship with.

I know its unfair, Lala, but its what these people get when they go there. For the girls that are frustrated about their men/women not performing on them and saying they "just don't like it" or whatever, I would say 99 out of 100 times its the smell. I imagine suggesting some scented oils and whatnot would solve the issue...not sure, never had an issue with the smell myself.

I disagree, because we are talking about guys who don't even venture downstairs EVER, with anyone. The problem is with guys who "don't do it" period. There are guys out there like that. I keep myself immaculate and have encountered 2 guys in my past who wouldn't even get close, wouldn't even try it. It's some hangup where they think vaginas are too nasty to put their mouths on. Allow me to make a comparison for the sake of arguement. Why is it that some women will not swallow after a BJ? I would equate that to the same reason why some men refuse to perform cunnilingus. I think in this case that men will resort to the "smell" excuse because it's jus the first thing that comes to mind.

I don't blame it, don't take that the wrong way. I'm just saying when friends of mine complain about getting yelled at for not doing it, or whatever, that's the usual culprit for them.

I've never encountered a "bad smell" because vagina is not disgusting to me, probably. What I consider fine and very much a turn on, and a lot of other guys do as well on this board apparently, might not be appealing to some men. I would not even call them men if that were the case though...

In other words, for men and women that just plain refuse to do it based on a belief (be it wrong or right) of disgust...well, that's just fucked up.
