Your embarrassing songs

We all have them, for one reason or the other, and it is great stuff to laugh at people about as well. I didn't see any really embarrassing songs on the random thread, but I suspect some editing was involved! I will throw myself out there first to be laughed at.

It should be noted that I have had my playlist for around ten years, so I have plenty of songs to be ashamed of. I've never really deleted any of the songs for some odd reason, yet always have to take shit when my friends find them buried in my list.

1. Adina Howard - Freak (good song for college parties!)
2. Christina Aguilera - Dirrty (see above)
3. Carrie Underwood - Before He Cheats (girlfriend is responsible for that one)
4. Random Madonna songs (not sure how that got on there, sister in law perhaps)
5. Random Mariah Carey songs (combo of number 1 and 3)
6. Rihanna cd (new one) (girlfriend wanted to burn that cd)
7. Sade discography (no excuse, that was all me)
8. Random Mandy Moore songs (would have to guess high school girlfriend, but not sure)
9. Fergie cd (gf again)
10. Justin Timberlake (originally gf, but I would be lying if I said I didn't listen to it quite a bit)

:(

Polka music in general :)

I've got some of the wife's 80s hair band music on my drive. Yuck.

Virtually any of the stuff I'd be embarrassed to admit I have is crap I've downloaded with the express purpose of annoying my wife. As a result, I have a smattering of disco "classics," REO Speedwagon, George Michael/Wham, Abba, Starland Vocal Band and other stuff that wants to make me jam a fork in my ear. None of this would ever show up in random play in my media player because none of this kind of junk is in my player's library. It just sits in a dark backwater of my HD waiting for me to bug my wife.

Fergie is all I can think of atm, but I'm sure there's more. My wife likes anything with a beat, no matter how fucking stupid the lyrics are. Any rap or rapish stuff I own from the last 5 years is all hers, but I keep it on my HD and also on my external.

Of my own stuff, I have "Monty Python Sings" and I know the words to every single song. I also have the Weird Al discography :P

is it embarrassing if i liked fergie when she was in the black eyed peas? Other than that there was a couple of back street boys songs that were catchy I liked and I like most of the Culture club stuff too.

I'm not really embarrassed by it, but if I were someone else, I guess I may find it embarrassing: I have some Information Society, NKOTB, Milli Vanilli, Paula Abdul, Rick Astley, Winger, etc. If I thought it was cool when I was a kid, I have it - 'cause it was. And it is. And fuck you, judgmental judy. ><

I've got about 4300 songs on my hard drive, and probably only like about 800 of those songs. Most of the remaining 3500 were "requests" or "dedications" while DJing within Second Life. Among the 800 that I like, there's probably a few that could be considered embarrassing.

George Michael - Freedom '90, Faith
Maroon 5 - Harder to Breathe
Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man
KC and The Sunshine Band - Shake Your Booty, Get Down Tonight
Pink - U + Ur Hand, Just Like a Pill, Trouble
Lauryn Hill - Doo Wop (That Thing)
Mary J. Blige - Real Love
Onyx - Slam
Naughty By nature - O.P.P.
Hootie and the Blowfish - Only Wanna Be With You, Hold My Hand, Time
Dave Matthews Band - Ants marching, Say Boodbye
John Mayer - Waiting for the World to Change, Clarity, Why Georgia
Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch - Good Vibrations

I'm guessing on most of that. I'm not embarrassed, but perhaps someone would be.

Dark in the city, night is a wire
Steam in the subway, earth is a fire
Do-do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do, do do
Woman you want me, give me a sign
And catch my breathing even closer behind
Do-do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do, do do

In touch with the ground
Im on the hunt Im after you
Smell like I sound, Im lost in a crowd
And Im hungry like the wolf
Straddle the line, in discord and rhyme
Im on the hunt Im after you
Mouth is alive with juices like wine
And Im hungry like the wolf

Stalked in the forest, too close to hide
Ill be upon you by the moonlight side
Do-do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do, do do
High blood drumming ony our skin its so tight
You feel my heart, Im just a moment behind
Do-do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do, do do

In touch with the ground
Im on the hunt Im after you
Scent and a sound, Im lost and Im found
And Im hungry like the wolf
Strut on a line, its discord and rhyme
I howl and I whine Im after you
Mouth is alive all running inside
And Im hungry like the wolf

-

(hungry like the wolf
Hungry like the wolf
Hungry like the wolf)

Burning the ground I break from the crowd
Im on the hunt Im after you
I smell like I sound, Im lost and Im found
And Im hungry like the wolf
Strut on a line, its discord and rhyme
Im on the hunt Im after you
Mouth is alive with juices like wine
And Im hungry like the wolf

Burning the ground I break from the crowd
Im on the hunt Im after you
Scent and a sound, Im lost and Im found
And Im hungry like the wolf

Strut on a line, its discord and rhyme
I howl and I whine Im after you
Mouth is alive all running inside
And Im hungry like the wolf...

nuff said.

Why were you on your iPod while you were on a date? Was she that much of a chatterbox?

We were driving and my iPod hooks into my stereo... it wasn't loud or anything.

This song exempts you from being gay unless you can replace the name Brandy with sarlen in this verse:

Yeah, Brandy used to watch his eyes
When he told his sailor stories
She could feel the ocean foam rise
She saw its ragin' glory
But he had always told the truth, lord, he was an honest man
And Brandy does her best to understand
(dooda-dit-dooda), (dit-dooda-dit-dooda-dit)

I have to say I have two that I'm thoroughly ashamed of:

Brittney Spears - Everytime (actually a really pretty song imo)
Boy George - Karma Kameleon

There's another one by a group called Rusted Root - "Send Me on My Way" that is a guilty pleasure as well!

Just got Paid - N'sync?
Hot in Here - ?
Informer - Snow (licky boom boom down)

Actually there are a few songs that I like for some reason. Probably because my wife likes them.

There are some artists that I would never have listened to on my own but thanks to roommates and others I have broadened my tastes. Like:
Joe Jackson
Talking Heads
Cat Stevens
Mother Lovebone

Hehe, wrong decade.
That tune is by Johnny Kemp and was released in like 87.
Nsync didn't hit the charts until the late 90s.

Nsync had a version of it too.

Nelly is probably the Hot in Here artist.

Yeah the N'sync version is what is my embarrassing song is.

Nelly! yeah that's the guy. Dunno why I like that song but I do.

I forgot to mention another artist I like thanks to a roommate and that is Roger Waters. Radio Kaos was a really good CD. (I'd say albumn but that isn't the thing anymore now is it)

Haha, I don't know if you can count Roger Waters as embarrassing, even with his solo stuff (which I also like).

I have an entire folder dedicated to embarrassing/annoying songs. I will list some of my "gems" when I am at home and have access to it.
