Vector Tower Defense

God damn I love this game... I enjoyed the original desktop tower defense, but this one is just awesome. I cannot freaking win, but I'm having fun trying.

If you do beat it, please post a screenshot? I'm trying a bunch of different strategies and I'd like to see what others come up with...

I love TDs (wc3 custom games = most fun video games i've play like 7 years running now), and will try this when i get home!

Played once, got 37 levels overall and 2,115,000 points. Fun game but the last 3 levels kicked my ass.

Its fun. Finished both the easy maps, first try on the first one, two tries on the second. The secret is compound interest, as you probably know. Put every bonus point into raising the interest rate as you get it, till the one you get at lvl 40 at the earliest. Dont spend a dime on guns that you dont absolutely have to so that the interest can compound, and dont spend that dime till the last possible moment. Specifically, do not build guns between rounds- merely study the map to decide where youre going to build guns then start the round, and only then build the new guns so, again, you get to collect interest on that money. Build the basic blue slower turrets to keep everything slow so your guns have time to work. Use small cheap guns early on, minimum upgrades. I like the basic red burst laser, and its upgrades are cheap. Again, dont upgrade if you dont have to. When you get enough cash to build a smart-missile turret then dont build or upgrade any existing turret, just wait as long as possible and then build a smart-missile turret, making sure to place it where it has max combined firing time on the various passages. Then just add more of them, and more slowers, as needed. Build the main guns in a cluster for eventual inclusion of a damage boost at lvl 40 and a range boost at lvl 45.

2nd try. 1st try got to 46. Didn't know you could upgrade tower levels cause I didn't read heh. Notice the leftover money!

I didn't make much use of the red missile turrents. I stacked rows of red level 1 and 2, and green level 2 and 3, and blue level 1 towers and tried to "aoe" them down. It worked for awhile, but as they start having rediculous amounts of health and stronger numbers, not so much. Next time i'll try and stack more missile towers.

Blue level 2 is useless.
You can get away with nothing but level 3 red and level 1 blue, but I add a few level 3 purples to help with the green flyer stages.

I got to level 50 and lost after stacking nothing but red and blue turrents, my question though: How did you get so many fucking turrents up, and all at rank 4, Fash? I had a lot of them, but not that many and most were only rank 2, with some rank 3's.

Compound interest, I'm guessing. It is the key. By the time you get to round 20 you should be earning at least 4k per round just from interest. Spend it carefully and thats a lot of turrets/upgrades.

I was not building much early on, just scraping by (trial and error works, you learn the minimum to get by) and the interest was ridiculous. I built more to spend my cash on the last 2 rounds, but round 50 didn't even get halfway through the maze.

if you'll notice in my first ss, i had over 1million in unspent money. I could easily have saved more, but i felt like max upgrading a few turrets in the last few rounds.

The secret is only to build what is necessary to survive the level, save as much as possible for as long as possible.

Yeah, I didn't quite understand the power of Interest.

I beat it a second ago with nearly every space on the map covered either with a blue or red3 turret. The last wave died before coming around the second corner.

All of my red's and purples at lvl 10, I had a lot of spare cash, so I had a little fun with the blue towers. Was kinda fun trying to watch the sprinters take off.. but going no where

Has anyone beaten any of the Hard ones? I can get to level 30 on The Frog, but I almost always die on that level.
