I couldn't make it on last night. I had close family get into town late after a long drive and they wanted to meet us for a late dinner.

Tonight, maybe! Same family is in town, but we may be meeting earlier.

Race is for the most part, irrelevant.
Some of the new racial skills are more suited to specific classes but none are what could be considered must-haves skills, or required skills to be effective.

Just pick the race that is the most asthetically appealing to you.

You sticking with Permafrost, Janx?
I seem to recall you had characters there in the past.

On that note..pls send bags to Janx!
As a mystic, you're gonna have monster strength. Don't worry about getting huge bags. Just wait til you have enough STR to carry a couple of rosewood strong boxes. Then fill up with more strong boxes as you get higher in level.

If you're on Perma, look for me on Eple, Leni or Kokkino. I'll hook you guys up with a guild invite and some loot.

Started Janx on Guk since my account is now devoid of characters. Activated my 2nd account which DID have chars on it..but now its a waste town so I'm guessing SOE does cleanup. With all the new stuff probably good to start fresh anyway after ..2ish? years away from the game.

Appears all my chars are on my other account (and yes they're all on permafrost miir!) =( Guess I should have checked before getting Kunark/reactivating. If only their char transfer service didnt cost an arm and a leg ;( Might end up activating it at the end of this months subscription and letting son take over 2nd account again.

One of my alts can craft up to lvl 27 Adept III spells. I have some rough jaspers for 20-27, but would need rough coral for 11-19. Let me know what you need (going adept III for spells under lvl 20 kinda pointless, but sometimes the rares can go cheap at the broker).

Have not had too much time to craft since I am trying to get my brig to 80.

I made my Barbarian Mystic an Alchemist (hey, this is my nostalgia character! When I want new fangled shit I'll play Bandorr - the extra "r" is for "retards took my name again!" my Dwarf Swashbuckler).

I am a foraging nutball, it's impacted my leveling speed I'm sure, but I just can't help myself, but I play this game for fun, not to get 80 and wonder what the lower level game is.

I wish there was a way to view/manage your broker from a web site!

I was (and am in EQ2) a barbarian, yeah. I didn't have any problems with Iksar being Shamans (I later played an Iksar SK and a Monk.). I'll admit I didn't see what all the combinations were.

Let me guess, if you're not prohibited by alignment, you can be it. Are there gnome and assling monks?

Gnomes are neutral and asslings are good.
Gnomes can start out as monks or bruisers while asslings can only start out as monks. If you want an assling bruiser, you'd have to betray.

I lost count of the number of dark elf rangers I've seen who's name started with a D, had a couple of ZZ and ended in a T.

My daughter likes the fae, she saw me playing one day and asked about "Daddy's game" (she's almost four years old). She designed one with pink hair and gave it her name. We worked together through the first few quest lines where you help the matron fairy of the nursery and the little girl who was scared of bees. We were on a pelt collection quest for a halfling when my wife came in while we were fighting a wolf and freaked out that I was teaching her "a violent video game". She was afraid our little sweetheart would grab a kitchen knife and try to skin Jabober (our cat).

Oh well, she got a kid learning computer gizmo (Leap Frog ClickStart?) last night. Maybe that will capture her imagination, but she still asks me almost every night when she goes to bed if the faeries still need her help. :(

Haha, that reminds me of when I was play EQ and my sister told my parents it was a violent game (i was 15 at the time, most likley). I said something like "your weapons don't even connect to the thing you're fighting, what's wrong?"

So finally managed to sell some collectables and get some cash flow going. Melee warden is really starting to pick up and at 14 I can rape ^ named guys.
Should I be going for the 75% crit first or work down the base class AA's for double attack etc..? Also how the hell do I get my hit rating up(is there even such a thing in eq2?). Seems like my CA's miss all the damn time even with maxed crushing for my level.

On the warden I pulled everything out of the druid tree and went straight warden tree for now. I think I have 30 AAs so far, have most of the CA up to 4 or 5, protector of the forest maxed and the 75% crit... that alone is a HUGE difference. I just started putting a few into the STR tree on Druid at this point (level 33).

My warden does almost as much damage as my Fury now... they may both be druids but are totally different classes and playstyles. The largest difference I have seen between 2 of the same. However I hear mystics and defiliers are in the same boat.

My oldest son, who just turned 5, has a 33 (almost 34) Kerra paladin we have been playing a bunch since I got a laptop I could sit close to my PC (there are times he needs a little guideance - heh). Still trying to figure out exactly how to help him spec that character though for DPS... lol... or as much DPS as a paladin can do, heh. Currently working on Ghoulbane, with the class weapons coming out in a few updates (hopefully) my guess is that it will be like EQ1 and you will have to trade up... maybe not though.

While I LOVE my monk (Kerra) this melee warden is definitely a lot of fun!

I just wish more of you guys were on Lucan D'Lere, Claeborn played a bunch about a month ago but I haven't seen him latley... hopefully he will be back on soon.

You only get AA XP for killing a named mob that is level 10 or higher.
You only get AA XP the first time you kill a named mob.
Some nameds simply don't give AA XP.

You gain AA XP for completing quests that are above level 10 and only if the quest cons green or higher to you(quests, like mobs can grey out). You can mentor down for some quests so that the quest is green for the completion. You dont get any more XP, you just get AA that you wouldnt have gotten if the quest was grey.

You get AA XP the first time you loot certain items. The status items for eash tier (relics, amulets, documents, etc) give AA XP. Other items like the ones tagged 'Looted **** treasure' may also give you AA the first time you loot them.
There a list of named npcs/level/location to kill for AA advancement?
If there were, that list would be MASSIVE. There's thousands of quests, thousands of named mobs, hundreds of looted items and hundreds of exploration locations that give AA.

Just play the game and don't worry about it. As long as grinding isn't you main source of XP and you do a reasonable amount of quests, you'll cap out on AAs before you cap out on level.

I never disabled combat XP on Eple and capped out @ 100 AA by level 69. I skipped a lot of content, deleted quests when they greyed out, abandoned quests that were too time consuming and even shitcanned entire quest lines because they were slowing my level progression.

On Leni, I disabled combat XP until about level 30, did a fuckton of quests and scoured zones for named I could kill before they greyed out.... then capped at 100 AA around level 61.

I started an Iksar Necro on Guk named Sabek.

One question for the Miirs of the world.
If I level up and then get the expansions later will it "remember" my AAs and credit me them when I get the expansions or am I going to screw myself out of AA?

It will remember your AA's. If you buy the Kunark expansion for $40 you get every single xpansion and adventure pack ever released. The entire game.

It will remember your AA's. If you buy the Kunark expansion for $40 you get every single xpansion and adventure pack ever released. The entire game.
It didn't "remember" mine, which is why I am level 52 w/ only about 38 AA's or so.

If you're leveling up with the basic game, pre AA (no KOS, EOF or ROK)... you will have no AAs.

You don't get retroactive AA XP for quests, named kills, looted items or exploration.
You can go back and mentor for named kills and you will still get credit for looted items and exploration(even if you looted/explored them previously, pre-AA).

What I recommend for most players returning is to just start a new character. A lot has changed and leveling is really quick at lower levels.
So I reactivated my account for a 10 day trial, but I dont have the expansions.
Your 10 day trial may actually include the expansion content.

Dregor came back recently on a 30 day trial (pre ROK) and he had all expansions enabled on his account.
I'm positive the AAs he gained during his reactivation trial will still be there when/if he decides to come back.

Yeah mine didn't have anything but Splitpaw, which is what I had before.
Wasnt a big deal was talking to a friend from work and he had accidentally gotten an extra copy of RoK. So I added that to my account and am now doing the multi-hour download.

I also got the bonus of a free Treasure Hunter Satchel that was waiting on my account to /claim because they wanted me to come back.
Cant complain about a 10-12 slot 50% weight reducer.

Weight limits are less of an issue now.
All of my characters (except casters)run around with 36 slot boxes.
