Holy crap, this stuff tastes like shit! I was falling asleep at my desk so I went to the vending machine. I sometimes will drink red bull, even though I don't really care for the taste of it, but Amp is totally awful. I'm going to finish it because I'm hoping it'll stop me from passing out, but sweet fancy moses I hate this stuff.

Just thought you'd like to know.

It DOES taste like total crap. I like Mt. Dew a lot, so I tried Amp... once. Never again.

I agree with the assessment that Amp (and Red Bull) taste like shit.

Rockstar has just redone their drinks to have a berry flavor that is acceptable. I wouldn't say it tastes so good you'll quit drinking everything else, but it definately doesn't taste bad. Before it felt like you had to suffer the horrible taste for an energy drink, but I don't feel that way anymore. Also, Glaceau's Vitaman Water has added a Vitamin Energy line. Their water flavors are quite good, and lifted straight to the energy line. However I haven't had them personally as I require sugar free energy drinks.

As bad as this stuff tastes, it appears to be doing the trick. Before I opened it my eyes were at half-mast and I felt like I was about to Rip Van Winkle it. Now I'm wide awake, if a little bit shaky in the hands.

Next time maybe I'll just have to plug my nose when I drink it.

Glaceau's Vitaman Water

I tried some of this shit at work, forget what flavor, and almost spit it out. I think it was berry or some shit, and honestly, I don't know why, but it tasted like cold, stale coffee to me. Was disgusting.

I'll stick to my propel water!

As for energy drinks, I tried red bull once, tasted like shit, so decided not to try any of the others.

newsflash for you connie chung: that bitter taste is actually energon molecules interweavened into the formula. if you interweavened any flavor into the formula, there wouldnt be room for all of those molecules and then you might as well be drinking fresca or whatever the fuck it is you non-hardcore unenergized pussies drink. i almost feel bad for you, laying there all exhausted on the floor while my heart is about to explode from all of my energy.

Vitamin Water is amazing. I have a constant supply of it at my house. It seems to do the trick too, but I admittedly have never used it to stay awake so .

I like the taste of Red Bull, and Monster. I have not liked the Rock Star drinks I have tried and I also think Amp tastes like absolute shit.

There is actually one I like a lot that I can only find at Super America gas stations, I can't remember what it is called right now.. Has a nice citrus (hint of orange) taste to it, I think that one is my favorite, I'll post the name when I get home.

Vitamin Water itself isn't an energy drink. But there is a seperate line (in cans) called Vitamin Energy.

Rockstar drinks haven't been redone, but they are a lot of new flavors:

Rockstar Original -- Cough Syrup-ey taste, I like it however.
Rockstar Zero -- Zero Carb Rockstar
Rockstar Diet -- Diet Sugar Free Rockstar
Rockstar Juiced Orange -- Less Carbonated Orange Flavor Rockstar
Rockstar Juiced Pomegranate -- ^^ but Pomegranate Flavor
Rockstar Juiced Guava -- ^^ but Guava
Rockstar Punched -- Best tasting energy drink around, very little carbonation fruit punch flavor.

All of them are loaded with Caffeine, Ginseng, Taurine, among other things. Mostly I think they give you the quick Caffeinated boost and lead you to a big crash at the end. Imho none of them work as well as Redbull (Not a coke product).

Fun trivia fact: Redbull is only made in Australia (according to the redbull guy) and imported by every other country.

Glaceau is now distributed by Coca-Cola as well. As far as the waters go -- I don't like them much but they're hugely popular and the market for them has grown by over 100% every year for the past 5 years.

The most popular flavors are
XXX -- Pomegranate - Blueberry water
Defense -- can't recall what flavor it is offhand
Power-C -- I think this one's a dragonfruit flavor.
Focus -- Kiwi - Strawberry I think. It's a horrible pink color so guys are wary of buying it.

The Vitamin Energy drinks are absolutely awful tasting. They're too carbonated, bland flavored (compared to other energy drinks) watery things that remind me of drinking tonic water. I hear they work well though for a long-term energy boost.

If you get nothing else from the Glaceau products, read the labels, a lot of them are really funny.

Edit: We still offer TaB as well (In the Eastern Great Lakes region at least). It's offered in the original 12oz cans and a new TaB Energy Drink which is a diet drink that tastes a lot like a cherry jolly rancher.

And if you like Mountain Dew but don't like Amp, try Full Throttle. It was originally created to compete with Mountain Dew before the horrible flop that is called "Vault" came out.

Yeah. I completely adore all types of Mountain Dew AND all types of energy drink. Except amp, which combines both and sucks huge massive slippery balls.

Energy drinks don't work. It's all psychological, and I base this on absolutely nothing.

I love Vitamin Water. I like flavored drinks, and I hate artificial sweetener (cutting out pretty much every other flavored water thingy, including Propel). I'm perfectly aware that Vitamin Water isn't a healthy drink or anything, but hey-- it still has about half the sugar that you'll find in any non-diet soda or fruit juice. Also, the flavor is lighter than juice/soda, which I prefer, and I think it does a better job at quenching thirst than most anything but regular water. Plus, apparently it has some vitamins in it, which can't hurt, right?

I drink the shit all the time. Looking around the room I'm sitting in right now, I see three empty bottles.

As for energy drinks:

Coffee, bitches!

But if I have to drink an energy drink, I like Red Bull, Sobe Adrenaline Rush, and the various juiced Rockstars. I only drink energy drinks when I have to make a long night-time drive, or if I need something to put vodka or jaeger into.

Either that or Sobe Adrenaline Rush. I find thats the best tasting of the shit tasters. However, nothing beats a Redbull and Jaeger.

I drink one or two cups of coffee a day... mostly because I enjoy the taste.
Other than that, I drink water and sometimes a glass of juice in the morning.

Amp is shit. I bought it once shortly after it was released due only to the Moutain Dew connection. I figured that if it could do more than Mountain Dew, it had to be strong! It tasted like a powdered drink mixed with a soft drink and something else.

I've noticed over the past year that more chocolate candy is available in the dark variety (M&Ms, specialty bars, etc)

So, buy pure Cacao, down a few handfuls of it in the morning when you wake up , and you'll be good for 6-10 hours! Tastes likes shit if you don't mix it with something but so what!

i like the amp overdrive it's cherry but i can only drink it with ice otherwise it tastes like how my toilet smells

It's called shock wave. And it's delicious. I drink these things for the flavor, caffeine does not wake me up- and that's probably a good thing because I would drink way too much pop/coffee if it did.

Also, I very much like drinking coffee...but sometimes during Texas summers after being outside all afternoon, hot coffee doesn't sound very good.

There's a Redline Xtreme now, but I haven't tried it. Redline is the best thing I've found since Ephedra was taken off the market due to stupid fucking baseball players doing stupid fucking things with it.

Depending on the area you live in, the Coca-Cola sales center that services the stores may be owned by an independent person other than Coca Cola Enterprises. If that's the case they may choose not to carry certain flavors, Diet Rockstar being one of them.

It's still available in the same white can (Rockstar Zero is a blue can). Another possibility may be that the major grocery chains in your area may have chosen not to carry Diet Rockstar, instead choosing only Rockstar Zero to save shelf space. If the main office of your major chains chooses not to, then none of their stores will have that product.

Fun Fact: "Diet" drinks are thought to be avoided by men, because apparently "Diet" is a feminine thing. Which is why "Diet Sprite" is now "Sprite Zero", along with arrivals of Coke Zero, Cherry Coke Zero, Vault Zero, and Fanta Orange Zero.

Your best bet would be to check gas stations, independent small stores and pharmacies for Diet Rockstar if you've only been checking major chain stores.

I suspect an independent owner of your Coca Cola Sales Center because the Rockstar Juiced flavors came out one by one and the release each flavor was separated by months.

Juiced Orange was first, and alone for what seems like almost a year.
Juiced Guava came next and was alone for another 6 or so months,
Juiced Pomegranate came next, followed pretty closely by Punched.

I'm not too worried about finding diet Rockstar. I like the zero version better, heh.

It was actually pretty damn good. I think I still like Juiced guava the most, but Punch is a definite close second. Any idea if Rockstar Cola is still available at all? I didn't see it on the website, but if you know where or how I can get a case or two, I'd definitely be willing to pay for it.

My favorite of the energy drinks is rockstar original, mainly because of the taste but also because it is almost always on sale. You get twice as much for the same price. But for real energy, nothing beats powdered caffeine directly to the lungs.
