I don't listen to a great deal of 80's music, but here's some shit I can recognize off my ipod.

Rush - Moving Pictures
Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
Men Without Hats - Rhythm of Youth
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
Misfits - Collection I

My music tastes were, and still are, all over the place. Beyond much of what's already been mentioned, these are some acts I liked a lot that come to mind:
Nine Inch Nails (it qualifies!)
R.E.M.
The Replacements
RHCP's 2nd & 3rd albums.
XTC
Husker Du (add your own umlauts, I'm too lazy)
KMFDM
Oingo Boingo

Ok, so listing those reminds me of more...

Front 242
Jane's Addiction
Black Flag, and Rollins Band stuff, although that's probably more early 90's
Suicidal Tendencies (before they shifted more towards metal)
Clan of Xymox
The Misfits / Samhain / Danzig
Minor Threat
Ministry
Tom Petty

That's enough. I could go on all day.

Wow, another Clan of Xymox fan....

There's a TON more artists from the 80s that I loved but I limited my list to the more mainstream ones.

Warrant - Cherry Pie (ok, it was 1990, and i'm not serious either way)

I have recently started listening to the 80's Red Hot Chili Peppers stuff. Though I still have a hard on for Frusciante(and he has some stuff in this era, see "Mothers Milk"), all of it is very good.
