When I was consulting we got to do some design and implementation jobs for regional banks. Redundant everything, disaster recovery sites, etc.. I did the firewalls, VPN and DMZ work mainly. Most fun I'd had since I left the military, except that I had to live in hotels for months on end.

@vn_Tanc: Used to have Blast Radius, the kids of the woman I was dating at the time loved that game, and got me hooked on it for a while.
I also work for the AFMC at Wright-Patterson AFB. I used to do hardware and software troubleshooting. Now I am the Asset/Technology Manager - basically they pay me to play with new toys like the latest laptops, PDAs, etc. under the premise that I am "testing" them to make recommendations on what they should buy. I also keep track of the inventory/distribution process - the Corona giveth, and the Corona taketh away.
It's a fun job, but I wish I didn't have to drive 45 minutes to get to work everyday. Then again, I'm told that this is standard for a lot of commuters living in metropolitan areas.
