So I bought EQ2 the other day, to see if it was worth the hassle.

Immediately after installing it, my PC died. Upon trying to restart the PC, it would not load windows. This continued for hours.

Eventually it loaded up windows, brining me to some fucking log in screen that's never existed before, asking for "System User" password, which of course I dont have.

Being a complete noob with no Windows CD (the comp came with XP already installed and I never assumed I would need it), I had to go and leave my shiny powerful PC at the repair shop so the repairyperson could see if he could fix it.

So, even though I won't lost all my music, writing, college stuff and pictures, its going to cost about 30 unnecessary quid and a few days sitting on this old piece of crap spare computer.

SO FUCK YOU EQ2.

I don't even know if I'll bother playing it now. It doesn't deserve it.

blaming that software for windows system files crapping out is awesome. Not having the install CD and being incompetent enough to not be able to log in with safe mode to repair is even better.

Kwon's thinking of starting on permafrost too, so I reckon that Permafrost sounds reasonable enough. I take it its not like WoW where Euro and US players are seperated?

On the first launcher screen, there's a menu in the top corner where you can select your region.
Your geographical location determines your default region, but you are not locked out of the other regions.

I also play on Permafrost and have a few characters under 70. My playtime is usually limited to late night Fridays and some on Saturdays. I am found on Nneena 70 Conj/70 provisioner and I also have a few alts at various levels. Willing to do some mentoring.
