I like to think I've got a pretty decent understanding of computers and software, but I've come up against a problem that I can't seem to figure out!

This may be dumb, but for some reason, my internet toolbar at the top of IE is doing this thing where all of a sudden it hides itself. You have to mouse over it to make it appear. I've checked all the internet option settings and have tried checking and unchecking lock the toolbar, but it doesn't work even after that. Little bugger still hides itself!

All I want is for the toolbar to not auto-hide itself, can someone point me to the answer?

Is it in fullscreen mode? Try F11?

Yeah, F-11 will correct the situation, but if I close out IE and Re-open, it automatically defaults to that mode. It's annoying and I don't know how to make it go back to doing it's normal thing. I also don't know why it started doing this all of a sudden. I don't go around randomly toggling things on and off, so it's a mystery to me!

/em wonders how long it well take for someone to non-helpfully suggest "Use Firefox"

Open regedit and check the registry key under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Main
The key is called FullScreen... make it say No
try that.

I'm pretty sure it can be done without actually going into the registry to "fix" it. I would go through the route to take, but everything is locked down at work
