CHARM CHANGES ON TEST
There appear to be some changes on the Test Server currently which, if they go live, would render all pets charmed with 63+ spells unable to be hasted.

There has been rigorous debate over the use of high level charm spells in the Planes of Power with some arguing that it made Enchanters too powerful.

Enchanters however haven't been the only ones impacted by this. Word of Terris, Call of the Arch Mage, Command of Tunare and Command of Druzzil have all been altered on Test.
If you check lucy all of the highlevel charms have had a 1% slow added to them on test. This would prevent you from hasting them.

you mean it is unbalancing to have a pet that triples for 800+ that hits at a delay of 15 or less?

Not saying I agree or disagree.
Just figured one EQ related post in like 4 months might be worthwhile. :)

they balance it by giving them so many hit points that you have to complete heal them THREE TIMES

/shrug, since they fixed the retarded pathing, I almost never haste the pets. This will have bigger impact on raids than my soloing.

Sadly this change doesn't do a damn thing to fix what's broken with charm. It's still grossly overpowered. No way should I be churning out AAs in under 30 minutes soloing v 1.5-2 hours for someone in a group. Charm needs to be removed entirely and replaced with something else. There's no way to balance being able to charm mobs that quad for 600-800 with almost no delay. Pets should not be churning out 500-750 DPS while melee are hovering around 100-140.

Then again they could just leave it, I wouldn't complain.

Level 53+ classes with charm have been able to get pets that can quad for 130+ since kunark came out. Not to mention fire giants, etc.. in the old world, can't remember what they hit for though. I've never parsed it, but a pet out damaging a whole group isn't too amazing.

Looked at from that perspective, the damage should be higher to scale with other classes damage output from 53-64 (I'm joking, don't get your panties in a wad)

Deaths and CR in PoP aren't a big deal, making a lot more people willing to use charm regularly. And brag about it.

Charm has always (situationally) been the most damaging spell in the game. I think they fully intended for this to happen, I don't think they expected folks to be taking down mini bosses solo/duo though.

Flame away :)
