A few weeks in, I have a few characters, but am liking the Brigand and SK so far...
Cohonil - DE Brigand - 25
Canelek - DE SK - 15
I am relatively casual, as my work is quite a bit more time consuming than in the EQ years.

Not if you are going to use naughty language!miir wrote:Just start a character on perma, fuckface.
i want to play eq2 i think will you mentor meSylvos wrote:FoH actually didn't move to Guk, Elkay asked Furor to let him create an extension of the guild in EQ2 on Guk. The FoH that are from EQ1/WoW that are in EQ2 on Guk are : Me, Sirensa, Senen, Varya and Elkay. The rest are nice people that were in Tyrants/FoH EQ2 on Perma that transfered to Guk. Not the same guild, just an extension. It's fun.

The appearance tab is for armor that you want to use for looks only. For example, I have my class quest set armor equipped there so it looks like thats what im wearing, but it's not, make sense?Ashur wrote:What level is your Brig-ina? I'm almost moving steadily on Ashimar now and look forward to Ro, although I'm trying to make sure there's always some questing involved. I went a bit kill-happy on Minotaurs in Steamfont and gained about half a level with no quests and want to make sure I don't outstrip AAs. I went to Zek last night to clean up some greenie quests and to see if the deeper area was a good source of quests (all I found so far in the one direction was a bunch of homo-tastic ^^^ orc encounters and the mines).
The game sure is a lot of fun with a group, but soloing you have to be mindful of the fine line between solo and group content. Hell I had my ass handed to me three times in fucking Rivervale. You go into a general store and get raped by mobs of ^^^ asslings ... wtf. I went just slightly off the trail near some friendly looking nymphs to get a look over the hill and there was one red ^^^ one hidden in the bunch who skull-fucked me and tossed my ripped off head to Zibeker to gnaw on.
Thanks asslings! /deletes Rivervale quests
I'm still very much enjoying the game so far.
I just blew my wad (~5p?) gained from Prof Miir's EQonomy 101 class (minus a bunch of tradeskill shit I'm saving to either use or sell later) on a bunch of mastercrafted armor that was 20x the sex of basic level 40 stuff (+15 wis mods out the wazoo and much better mitigation, and I look like Batman in black instead of the Joker in patchwork clown armor!).
Also, can someone explain this whole "Appearance" tab when I bring up my inventory?
I'm not sure about the weightAshur wrote:Ahh... OK, is there fancy looking armor out there? I haven't seen anything that looks good, but I suppose I'm still living in the wood and waddle world of pre-80. I've heard there's some cool feathered hat swash outfits, but I didn't know what that was all about.
I'm not sure what the rage is for shamans in EQ2, as it was entirely different between EQ (where the plate-look was the one we all coveted) and WoW (where it was apparently who could get the biggest shoulderpads with lightning particle effects).
I did, however, listen to a rather lively discussion on cloak design in guildchat last night that had Sylvos ready to explode in a bloodbath of rage.
Does armor/stuff in the appearance slots count against your weight?

I'd rather have a swash/brig tank than a monk/bruiser tank.Canelek wrote:I think it will work well, even though scouts make poor tanks!
My legs and chest are normal mastercrafted chainmail w/ all the happy imbuings (Lambent?) and the other armor slots are mastercrafted brigandine. I'll take your advice and check into cheap jewelry if I get a chance to after the game tonight.miir wrote:As a melee spec mystic, your most important stats are STR and WIS.
On my mystic, I went with the normal mastercrafted chainmail (str/agi/sta). I usually stay away from the brig chain. Int is worthless for a melee priest.
You can make up the difference by getting the caster-centric mastercrafted jewelry (wis/int/sta) and if you have cash to spare, get a set of melee oriented jewelry... or just a couple of +str hex dolls.
One thing to keep in mind is when getting jewelry, you don't have to upgrade it evcry tier. The difference between T3 and T4 mastercrafted caster jewelry is like 2 points each of wis/int/sta and like 5 or 10 points of power/HP.
Jasper (tier 3) is dirt cheap on Perma (4-6g per) and the jasper jewelry give +10 wis/sta/int and 20 hp/power.
