Have you seen his video for "Like I Love You?"
All I have to say is ELL OH ELL! He thinks he's like the new white Michael Jackson or something.

I like to watch artists flip flop. Like Pink started out R&B and now has gone rock, she does pretty good at both. Justin started out pop and is now trying R&B, like his R&B, hated his pop. Let's try to, as a collective society, forget Michael Jackson ever existed, ok?

The funny thing about Pink is that she never really wanted to do pop/R&B.
He first album did very well and she was smart enough to request certain artistic freedom with each succesive album that shes now able to make the music she wants.
I don't really care much for her music but she's very talented and has good management. Most artists these days are easy to toss off as record company 'product', but Pink has shown surprising integrity.

Krimson's right.
Justin actually has some decent R&B tracks on his new album. I don't own the CD, but I've heard some good stuff off it. Timbaland co-produced the album, and he has a talent for helping pop stars bring out hidden skills in other genres. His work with Justin has done some good.
I still wouldn't call myself a Justin Timberlake fan, but at least his new album is miles ahead of his old N'Sync crap.

Well, if it's not N'sync-ish, it's at least worth a download. heh

Hanson's second album is pretty good, too. Really.

I like Justin Timberlake's latest recordings. I don't know what it is about Cry Me a River but that song has me hooked, but I'm a sucker for some slow grinding styled music. ^^
I also recently bought Christina Aguilera's latest CD and I love it. It's got a bluesy sound to it as well as female-empowering lyrics. Plus I looooooove Dirrty.

I can't count how many times I've agreed w/ Voro.
Then again, I'm not even exposed to this stuff so I really have no clue.

I'd agree that Justin's N'sync stuff is too uh, crappy for me? But I do like the solo stuff, probably due to the fact the songs were produced by Rappers/R&B peeps.
As far as Christina... I think its funny the first single out was Dirty. The next single out was Beautiful. I'm dirty. I'm beautiful. I'm trying to find some kind of gimic to sell music.
In all honesty though I think she has an amazing voice, her choice in style and appearance crack me up.

pink isnt rock, shes pop
That track she does with Steven Tyler is umm... rock.
Richie Sambora even does a guitar solo on it.

i was unaware that having a member of Bon Jovi on your record lended you any sort of credibility whatsoever.

Richie Sambora is one of the best guitar players on the planet, regardless of how you feel about Bon Jovi's music.

I wasn't implying credibility, but Steven Tyler and Richie Sambora supply undeniable 'rock' credentials.

not by a longshot in my opinion.
Sambora is certainly pretty good for a rock guitar player. probably above average in that genre.
If we are just to compare him to others in that genre there are tons who are really on another level above him (Knopfler, Navarro, Van Halen, etc).
But if you then open the comparison to the spheres of jazz and classical, where the musicians, on average, are supremely talented by comparison to rock/pop musicians, the atatement approaches absurdity.

TRUE!

I meant rock guitarists.
And I would easily put Sambora on the same tier as Eddie Van Halen and the like, which I would consider to be probably the second tier of musicians in the rock industry. Most of his compositions with bon jovi are pretty uniform, but he has some alternative stuff that I am assuming you've never heard because it is uniformly excellent.

I was at a party and someone popped in Pink's latest CD. This was my first exposure to it, having no idea who she was...
...I went out and bought it. I like it.
of course this says nothing for my taste in music, because I also like a lot of stuff -- I'm not a critic...
