Can anyone give me a couple of good spots to go to solo a 26th level ranger?

Usually it's hard to solo a 26 ranger these day.. frequently seen traveling in groups, and harmony doesn't always work. On occasion you'll find one running from his bind spot (generally this is due to a condiiton called corpus lostus), and attempting to encounter one his way usualy will involve a lengthy chase, unless you hide in the bushes with a fair maiden chained up in his or her path, which will give almost every range pause.
Except Sylvos.
Barring that...
Eh.. South Karana? I think it'd really depened on yer gear bud.

I will have to try that. I have a couple of cent weapons to dual wield. my armor class is 530ish and I have a bow that can hit for up to 45 points of damage. i haven't been to south Karana. Been to MSeru and Paludal Caverns when I was younger. I would like to have a spot I could solo once in a while when grouping wasn't possible.

Ummm ok, Akaran whatever you say... /boggle
Marus Seru is a great spot, off to the left of the zone in from Neth's lair. Everfrost Peaks is not a bad spot, killing orcs over near Permafrost. Lake of Ill Omen is ideal for your level. Over near the windmill should be good.
Though you asked about soloing, don't turn down the opportunity to group. Soloing should be your last resort. Always team up with a cleric/shaman/druid if possible.

Lake of Ill Omen. Yes, it's old.. but you can fear kite there really easy. I solo'd Aedari from about 15 to 35 there and then took my fear kiting tour of terror to Overthere to get to 45 or so.

Look Ma... a newbie! Awwww...
Don't have a heart to jackass, but welcome to the board!
I'll second Marus Seru, you can even group there occasionally. Just remember that paludal's exp gain rate was the best you will ever have in EQ.
Everfrost is not bad too , skip orcs though, they're green mostly to you and go after wooly mammoths, tracking helps you here tremendously.
South Karana's aviaks are good too, so is Ill Omen. Pretty much any zone that is big, outdoor and with lots of wandering mobs.
If you can stand being far from any people try Stonebrunt Mountains. It's on Odus off Warren's.

Yeah I am a true noob. I played AC for over a year. I played AC2 a little bit and don't care for it although the game jut looks amazing.
Tried EQ a year agoa and didn't like it. Gave it another try a month or two ago and I am really having a good time.
Jackass away. I got a thick skin.

i'd just reiterate what aranuil said about using soloing as a last resort to grouping.
it is not always easy to find a group even when you have lots of friends. But EQ is a game that is inherently social, and you honestly cant experience 99% of the content without building a bit of a social network. So making acquaintainces can lead to friendships / long term game relationships (ie guild membership, etc).
game has changed a lot, but i did those levels in South Karana and Cazic Thule (haha dont try that now). UPper Guk woudl be great xp if you can find a couple friends to go with you. You should be able to get pickup groups in SK, specifically at the spires outside Splitpaw. Also highpass Hold basement.

Ennia's probably right about the orcs in Everfrost greening out, but as she said, mammoths should still be good.
Also, check out the ranger's glade forums:

Plenty of information there to help you play the ranger class well.

Build your friend network up now, and have friends to group with later.
Soloing is a death sentance towards the higher levels.
Some of the people I grouped with in my 20s were my closest game companions in the 60s.

With a couple others at that level, I got my rogue some good exp in echo near the deep zone as well as dawnshroud peaks. Also, the giant fort in Warsliks was good to 29 or so.
As far as soloing a ranger, the Glade that Aranuil linked should have some good info as well
