New Profile Fields

I added some new fields to the profile, that will show up under your avatar on your posts if you fill them out.
So far they're just IDs for the various console networks, and your sex. Go
here to fill them out if you like.
Let me know if there is anything else you think we need to add, and I'll be happy to consider it.

I actually thought about doing that, but that isn't something that users should be able to change. They have to go through the initiation rituals the same as everyone else. Oh shit, I've said too much.

Yeah, we're running a clean version of phpbb without any mods right now. A release candidate at that.
Once it's no longer an RC and we upgrade to the stable release, I'll look at adding some mods.

I like how the fields only show if you enter text in them. Keeps things less cluttered.
Need some sexual fields:
swallow/don't swallow
pooper/no pooper
cake/pie
Is it possible to restructure the stars for number of posts required? Customize the icons for VV? The breakdown atm doesnt' seem to work for the age of the board. 500/1000/2500/5000/(maybe 7500)/10000/20000. Something like that? I think it's 1500/5000 right now which doesn't give people in between something to shoot for!

It's not sacred, no, but it was put there to serve a purpose. It doesn't show up if you don't have information in there because it's only there in the first place for people who were interested in displaying their network IDs to other people. But carry on being a douchebag, I'll just delete those fields once it bothers me enough.

All of the sudden these new fields are an issue when the location field never was yet people didn't exactly always use that field to inform members of their exact whereabouts...and who cares? You I guess.
If "unban cart" in the Xbox field is enough to make you delete the field, I can live with that. It's amazing we've been graced with the location field for this long. Cart's "kyoukan's mouth" should have ruined it for everyone long ago. The PMs of outrage must still be overloading the server on that one. Lock down some more conformity rules. Wearing a tie while posting might be next.
Annoying would be putting a paragraph of text in one of the fields, which I believe is possible (or used to be) at least with the location field.

Wow... over-reacting just a bit aren't we? The fact that you would get upset over something like Winnow using the fields for something else other than for what YOU intended them for is pretty funny. Point for Winnow!!

It's funny the things people on this board use to call out others. With all the holier than thou attitudes going around (see Lala's rant on sunscreen usage, your defense of "pederasts", the numerous threads on people who believe in God/Jesus/Allah/Buddha getting blasted by the atheists of this board etc) it would appear that tolerance is alive and well at the vault!
Thanks for your reply, but sorry if it isn't worthy of a return attempt at flaming. Something that minor just isn't enough to draw me out like that.
My reply to Sylvus was more to poke fun of the fact that he came across as having gotten up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and was acting a bit moody, and once again, people have fallen for Winnow's intentional act of baiting someone. I laugh everytime he's successful at it, because I see it for what it is, and for the enjoyment it gives him that people take the bait so often. It's like shooting fish in a barrel, and I have to say I think I get as much enjoyment out of it as he does seeing all the people that constantly respond to his bait the way that they do.

Ahhh, nevermind... as much as I love a good, fun argument, I just can't bring myself to name calling and insulting people I don't know, or acting like I'm better than someone else
I guess it has something to do with being brought up by loving parents, not being cynical of the world, being tolerant of others, loving my fellow humans, believing in a higher power, and not revolving my life around politics.
