How exactly is skateboarding a silly sport?

Just watched that earlier and was amazed at the distance he fell and the way his shoes literally popped off his feet on impact. Quite astounding that he was able to get up and walk away after it.

I also fail to see how skateboarding is a silly sport compared to the majority of other sports that people get paid millions of dollars to participate in.

Man, he's lucky. I remember as a kid, one of my friends was doing nothing more than riding leisurely down the sidewalk on his skateboard, hit a pebble and fell on his side, breaking his hip, causing him to be laid up in traction for months. It would have made for a boring video!

I'm no doctor, but I don't think he SHOULD have walked away from that...even if he felt he was capable...

Good point. No trainer or sports doctor would have let him walk away--serious fuckup on the EMT or whatever team. He should have been strapped to a C-Spine and carted off. It is that kind of precaution that can save serious post-accident spinal/cranial trauma. I was so blown away buy the guy being able to move that I didn't think about how badly they fucked up handling the accident.
