They should have added Second Life to that list since you really don't need to pay for anything in SL if you don't want to. Back to 100!

400 meg client download, a quick patch and instant registration.
The server seems relatively lag free.

Gameplay is pretty basic, lots of clicking. Similar to every other free Asian MMO.
You start getting skills at level 5.
Depending on you class you get buffs, ranged attacks, melee attacks.
Character customization is non-existant and there are only 4 classes (with 2 subclasses).
Graphics are half decent but seem pretty dated. Character animations are pretty good.



A fun little timewaster that's considerably better than throwaway crap like Dungeon Runners or Flyff.

America’s Army
Great gameplay but the graphics are starting to show their age.


Anarchy Online
Awesome but dated MMOG. A crapton of content for froobs but you gotta pay if you want to good stuff from the expansions. Lots of depth and a great community.


BOTS
I really didn't like this one at all. Graphics are crap and the gameplay is very repetative gameplay is very repetative gameplay repetative.


Dungeon Runners
Really ugly game. Diablo-esque type clickfest MMO.


F.E.A.R. Combat
You'd be crazy not to try this.


Flyff: Fly For Fun
Cutesy anime graphics. Horrible UI. Typical asian MMO type gameplay.


Frets on Fire
A half-decent Guitar Hero clone. Lots of downloadable content/songs.


Graal Online
You'll want to gouge your eyes out after playing this for 30 minutes.


Grand Theft Auto/Grand Theft Auto 2
I loved these games when they were released. Some good nostalgic value but they may take some fiddling/tweaking to run on your PC. I haven't been able to get them working on my Vista box.


Hero Online
Aother asian MMO. I didn't spend too much time with this one but it seems like it has more potential than most of the other free asian MMOs ive tried.


Kuma\War
This is a decent online FPS. Graphics are pretty good and there's lots of other players.


Risk Your Life 2
Complete and utter trash.


Savage
This was a lot of fun when I tried it. An interesting RTS/FPS hybrid with nice graphics. Unfortunately there wasn't very many other players.


Shadowbane
Been ages since I played it but I have a soft spot for this game. Gonna give this another try this weekend.

Garbage.


Starsiege: Tribes
If you can find anyone else to play this with you, you're in for a treat. Fantastic game.


The Elder Scrolls: Arena
Dated but fun.


Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
Fun, mindless shooter with surprisingly good graphics.

Rappelz: Bigger download than most other F2P asian MMOs. Took hours to patch. Didn't get a chance to check it out yet.
Hero Online: I re-installed this to give it another go.
Scions of Fate: Very similar to Flyff. The UI is a little less irritating. Does not support widescreen.
Corum Online: This one is not very good. Cannot customize any controls (click and hold middle mouse button to rotate camera WTF?). Graphics are pretty bad.

This game looks interesting. Very EQ-ish.

Skirts seem short enough to make it interesting.

People bitching about server lag and that you have to click to move. I don't like click to move but it won't stop me from trying a game.

If you grab it, "Filefront" seems to be the fastest way to get it. It's maxing my 12Mbps.

Rappelz is the best out of the bunch. Played it up to level 18 last night.

The server lag issues are pretty bad.
Frequently the game would just lag out for 20 seconds.
It seems to be a lot more polished than the others. A good quest progression so far and the localization isn't too bad. Graphics are nice, music is quite good.

Downloaded the 1.29 gb client fast but the update has been fucking horrible. I got to 51% the second try (took a few hours to get there) then closed the window when it appeared stuck...it looks like it's all or nothing, even though it seems to be downloading a thousand tiny files ranging from 1kb to a few mb in size. If you close it , it starts back from the beginning again. Poor implementation of the update/patching process.

Update process seems to be going twice as fast which means it should complete in 2.5 hours. From what I can tell, the updates are a total of about 350mb which should only take me 3.5 minutes!

Will try it out tomorrow if it downloads the updates.

From the vids, the UI looks very EQ-like which is a good thing.


Edit: What server are you on Miir? I will grace you with my presence! (if there's more than one to choose from)

Just a quick note. Got the updates finally. This game is fun! It's smooth and no lag for me (yet), disconnected once.

I chose the Bahamut (spelling) server.

Liking the animations. I picked Gaia and it says I'm a rogue. First weapon I got off initial mob quest was Dirk and liking that as well. Speedy attacks.

Fun so far. Hoping Bahamut is good server for lag. Was on the bottom when I picked it. In game name : Winnow

Character selection is pretty basic. There's three home towns to start in. I had already chose Gaia at this point in the selection process.



Map of world. I haven't left the trainer island in bottom right yet at level 8. I think at level 10 or 15 you scoot on out to the rest of the world.



Max res for widescreen monitors is 1440x900. Looks good in the game but would like to have had 1920x1200



Word wrapping doesn't work...at least with 1440x900 res. Some quests allow you to choose your reward. This one had three weapons to pick from.

This is example of either a pet or summoned creature.

The game seems pretty polished for a freebie save for the text wrapping issues.

Point and click movement isn't an issue. Camera views/movement works well (Guild Wars type functionality) Animations for attacks, etc are smooth and nice. Advancing levels, skills, etc is easy and straight forward. No need to pay for anything to enjoy this game so far.

Bahamut server doesn't seem laggy (so far)

I also made a Gaian and picked a SpellSinger (pet class).
I can make a character on your server and make it a cleric (or some sort of healer). It seems they are in pretty high demand.

Been playing Trickster Online, which will NOT appeal to most of you. It caters to pre-teens tbh, but as a girl, I love its fluffy cuteness. If you have little kids, they'd probably like the game.

There is something disturbingly pre-teen lesbo about the game though. First off, the make characters are very feminine looking, even for cutsie avatars. Secondly, maybe it's a translation issue but some of the things the NPCs say are creepy. For example there is this female NPC that says "I love to be here- So many young and soft chicks here-" Another NPC tells a 3rd NPC to "Lick it" and I'm not sure why... Some of the comments are just funny "Ahh. So itching"
