Resolution already broken.

Yup, I knew it wouldn't last. Was going to give up fast food and then yesterday (Jan 1st) we went out for breakfast at a fast food place. I am not sure if you can count IHOP as fast food because we had to wait 30 minutes to get a table. I deserve a spanking.

IHOP is not fast food, it is casual dining.

Regarding IHOP,

Paraphrased from Lewis Black, comedian:

"IHOP is my gym. I can go there and immediately feel great about myself because there is always someone there who is 350 pounds heavier than I will ever be."

i went to Waffle House at 4am on new years .

besides the fact that it was a total madhouse and i ate like a man on Death Row, and i'm still feeling the effects, i had a blast.

Patty Melt Plate
hash browns scattered, smothered (onions), double covered (cheese), and topped (chili).

i had 2 bites of the hash browns with chili before my frontal lobe came back online and warned me against further eating of chili. i managed to pilferr a couple bites of Country Ham from my friend to the left and waffle from my friend to the right.

and their sweet tea was on the money!

IHOP sucks!

Never been to IHOP myself but I wouldn't classify it as Fast Food.

IMO, any place with a drive-thru is fast food. IHOP's don't have a drive-thru.

Statistically you won't live up to your resolution past February anyway. :P

Jice is a paranoid asshole.

Shit broke my first resolution of the year to be kind to the lesser species that inhabit this blue globe.

Hmm, see Hayley, post something about Jice. I smell an instigator.

I resolved to not resolve anything.

Oddly, I succeeded and failed at the same time.

Hayley is totally free and clear on this one.

Please let's not let this degenerate into another one of those kind of threads.

It may not be "fast food" but its about as nutritionally sound. You are better off resolving to give up smaller things like soft drinks or deep-fried foods. Its much easier to do and you don't have to completely avoid fast-food type restaurants. Let yourself have a burger, but with no cheese, mayo, or fries. You will significantly cut-down on the fat and calories without robbing yourself of all of the pleasure.

Resolutions fail when they feel like a punishment. :)

It's easier to make resolutions if you make them realistic. For example, my resolution was to get drunk and to become the richest person in the world. Knowing me, though, I'll probably only accomplish one of those goals. But at least I'll be batting .500.

I love IHOP. You are right, there is always a 400lb guy there sweating and munching that makes you feel guilty for even eating out.

Why? Every one I've been in has been mediocre, at best.

Waffle house at 3 am after a night out is like Mother's Milk.

There's nothing like a visit to the local greasy spoon to top off a night of over-indulgence, and Waffle House spoons are greasier than most.

Please, come to Jersey. Screw chains for late nights, enjoy the 24 hour diner experience. Doesn't matter where you are here (at least in north jersey, but then aside from AC, who the hell cares about south jersey), you're never more thana couple of miles from one
