Well done. After listening to both, I prefer the cover.

That guys voice is great. Cover > Original.

While the guys voice is great, saying it is better than the original is insanity. Outkast have been pioneers and set trends in music for well over 10 years now. NOT to mention that when that cd (The love below/SpeakerBox) came out, this song had people my grandparents age coming into Circuit City to buy it.

If the CD was released without the "anti-piracy software," I might agree with you...but it wasn't.

Nice try dude. I actually didn't even care for his half of that cd or any of his part in their new cd (I also think that the reason they are probably about done as a group is because of him), but that doesn't mean he's not talented.

Humor for those that remember this:
We at Polaroid pictures would like to inform Mr. jbeaudin2 that it is not actually necessary to shake a newly taken Polaroid picture. We will now fade back into modern irrelevance.

Sarcasm for those that have their sarcasm filter turned off:
It's Elvis and Eminem all over again. :( Just another example of the white man trying to rip off the black man's music!

Commentary:
In all seriousness though, I loved the original and I love this one. I'd buy that in MP3 format if it were available.

It's unfair to say this is better than the original. (it's not) The first thing I thought of when I heard it was how good it really was. Then I realized how tired of the original I STILL am. It's a good cover, no doubt, but no where near the quality of the first time you heard the original. Agreeing with funkmasterr, this song captivated every living generation and became the biggest reason the album sold over 10 million albums in one year. This cover, if the original, and had just as much airplay and hype, wouldn't have done that.

ps boog, how did the anti-piracy thing deter you from just downloading it over the internet? I had no problem finding it. (yeah, fuck you miir, I also bought it)

I didn't buy or download it at all. I did listen to it at the home of someone who purchased it and unknowingly installed the software on their home computer though.

I also think it's better than the original.
