After Jake Plummer starts Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Broncos are likely to turn over their starting quarterback job to Cutler, their highly touted 2006 first-round draft choice, who then would make his debut on Sunday night, Dec. 3, against the Seattle Seahawks, according to sources close to the situation.
Sure, why not? Hell, it has been rather obvious that Plummer folds under real pressure. Dude has a great regular season record with Denver, but that isn't good enough...maybe in Detroit or Oakland, but not Denver.

I for one would welcome a change of guard, even if it means seeing a rookie get a taste of the NFL in a bad way. Hey, maybe the kid will look as good as he did in the preseason!!! hopefully... was not expecting a change so soon, even if it is only speculation.

A great regular season record was enough for the Donkies to keep John Elway around all that time :P

It wasn't Jake Plummer's fault that Arizona State lost the Rose Bowl in 1997...the same year unranked ASU shut out #1 Cornhuskers at Nebraska 19-0 and took ASU all the way up the rankings to within less than 20 seconds of a National Title. He worked all the way down the field in the 4th quarter and made an amazing scramble into the end zone to give the Devils the lead with less than 2 minutes to go. OSU then proceeded to march down the field and score on ASU's defense. : (

If they hung on to the lead, I could have mentioned during the huge Michigan/OSU hoopla that ASU beat them both when it counted head-to-head in the Rose Bowl! Instead, OSU gets props for eeking out the win.

Moving out of the desert ruined Jake Plummer. His game went downhill and he grew that funny looking mustache.

What did that post have to do with living in the desert though? I was demonstrating that Jake hasn't always been the reason for losing a game. Could be a Denver curse or QBs might just need like 10 years in Denver before they step up and win a championship.

Doesn't Ladanian Tomlinson have more touchdowns than the Bronco's offence?

Dude is going to break 30 rushing TDs this year...then get on the cover of Madden '08...and then....well...

Still though, how is Denver losing to Dallas in 1977 a history lesson for me?

Grats you, Texas and the country of Mexico on being a Cowboys fan. 'America's Team'...nice...

Bitter about what? Your canned "retorts"? If you are going to continue to troll, you should really come up with some better material than that, sputnik.

I don't think Jake Plummer was ever that good. They should have left his ass in Arizona. Up to now he has just done barely enough to keep his job. It finally caught up to him this year when the running game wasn't there to bail his ass out. I hope Cutler can do a better job...he can't do worse.

Really what it boiled down to was Plummer not being able to figure out a way to react to defenders plopping a guy in his bootleg path. It was exposed grotesquely in the AFC Championship game. Once the running game started to flounder, it was easy to pull a guy from the box and leave him there just to blow up an intentional boot/rollout.

It wasn't only Plummer this year, but he had enough glaring mistakes to bump up 'the future'.

Make no mistake though, Cutler can do worse indeed--but there is enough confidence both in Cutler and coaches alike to have prompted this change.

I hope the kid does well, but I am not holding my breath! If he progresses each game, that will be good enough for me. Even Leinart and Young have taken giant strides in recent weeks and they are on teams that need more parts than Denver.
