Expensive Ice Cream

I went to go get some ice cream tonight and locked myself out of my home. First time ever.

Ice cream ended up costing me $98.00! Did I get ripped or is that about the right price for breaking into a house?

I shall savor my ice cream!

I've locked myself out several times and it usually ranges from $75 - $120 so I don't think you fared too poorly.

How was the ice cream?

I locked myself out of my car once at a rest stop off of I-90 in Ohio. The guy charged me $50 on the nose to open the door, and didn't ask questions or even make sure I belonged inside that car. Made me think of how many times someone gets the short end of that deal each year...

Not too bad : )

I went with Sundae Cone:
Now there's another way to enjoy THE ORIGINAL SUNDAE CONE! We started with our creamy vanilla ice cream, swirled in thick ribbons of fudge, and added loads of chocolaty coated peanuts and cone pieces.

Ok, that sounds like that just may be the perfect ice cream. What brand?

Looks like it's edy's:

I've been partial to http://www.haagen-dazs.com/segicd.do?productId=303 lately.

Caramel Cone:

"this creamy blend of caramel ice cream with rich caramel swirls balances the sweet crunch of chocolate-covered cone pieces for a harmony of caramel, chocolate and crunch in every bite"

They have it Light and it tastes identical to the extra fatty one!

I think it's a West/East coast thing with the name branding. It's branded as Dreyer's in Arizona which is a mid level ice cream. (equivalent to buying 89 octane if you were buying fuel):

Dreyer's also makes Triple Chocolate Thunder so they're OK in my book.

I am stuck on a local ice cream shop's creations.

Rico: Mexican Vanilla, Strawberries, Cinnamon, and Graham Crackers all beaten into submission before being served...

or

The Cookie Monster: Mexican Vanilla, Oreo Cookie, Cookie Dough, and chocolate chip cookie beaten as well

nothing beats graeter's. living in cincinnati spoiled me forever on ice cream.

http://graeters.com/

the black raspberry chocolate chip is the best... it's like $70 for 6 pints delivered to where i am but so worth it for special occasions.

I can't say that i've tried every brand of ice cream, but I traveled the world quite a bit, and I can say with some certainty that I have never had ice cream better than Blue Bell!

Whenever i get locked out of my house i usually have to climb up to the second story, or break open a window. All three times i've done this some person walking by has called the cops saying that someone was breaking into the house.

Graeters is simply amazing ice cream. I go there quite often and it is perfect for a quick stop on a date. While I have had Blue Bell my fair share, it has nothing on Graeters (though that apple pie one was pretty good). As far as I know it is pretty exclusive to Ohio, maybe in surrounding states, but I'm sure it will get huge before too long.

i locked myself out of my apartment in Seattle when 6 buddies of mine and a few of their girlfriends had come over to party. The worst part is I actually joked about leaving my keys in the room before we left, and then realized I actually did leave them while we were out to get some drinks to bring back. However, as we were waiting the 2-3 hours it takes for the security Pat to come let us in, we find in the lobby an old grampa and his two 20-something grandchildren who have also locked themselves out. The old guy was some badass ex-marine type and my buddies were all in the armed forces so they all got along. Eventually we all just went up on the roof instead of waiting in the lobby and drank all the booze we bought while shooting the shit with this old guy and his grandkids. The security Pat showed up and actually had to come find us cause we lost track of time. so it all worked out in the end

i also had a really bad habit of leaving my keys stuck in the door after staggering home on the weekends

I like anything with chuncks or changes in texture. It's like an adventure in my mouth and my taste buds are invited.

Yeah growing up I can remember there being lines down the street at the Graeters in downtown old Westerville.

That Dreyers looks just like Edies.. and Edies sucks. I'm assuming they're different companies?

Blue Bell ftw as far as grocery store ice cream.

I locked myself out of my apt on a sunday night, frantic call to a locksmith and 45$ later he picked the door.

98$ seems a bit high.

Sounds like you spoke to same guy on phone that picked your lock? I went through a dispatcher so I guess so they get a piece of the pie as well.

No. Dreyer's and Edy's are the same thing. Just branded differently based upon region.
Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream Holdings, Inc., a division of Nestlé, is a United States-based producer of ice cream and frozen yogurt. Its products are marketed under the Dreyer's name in the western United States and Texas, and under the Edy's name in the rest of the U.S.; Dreyer's/Edy's is the best-selling brand of packaged ice cream in the U.S.

Dreyer's isn't that bad. I'm not talking about the gourmet ice creams that cost more than their weight in gold. It's a good mid level ice cream.
