MP3 apps

Over time and over file moves some of my MP3's have become choppy ( kind of like the old "cook" problem from people blowing ASCII to Binary choices) but not so severe, just drags, skips etc.
I can redo them manually, but that is a hassle, and I was wondering if anyone uses, knows of or can personally recommend any app that addresses these type of issues. Specially since I stepped on one of my CD's that cannot be replaced... small band, small town, germany, early 90's heh. I should have kept the vinyl original sigh.
I have google'd it but find myself lacking confidence in particular app, or the bad news that I am SOL.
