FUCK VANGUARD.

I haven't been able to even GET the client since they started using fileplanet to download the client. That's TWO FULL STAGES OF BETA, and these retards still can't figure out what's wrong.

Brad has truly come up with a "next gen" method for pissing people off. This shit is so much fucking worse than then Blizzard's shitty pseudo-torrent, I am really at a loss for words.

WTS 1 defective beta account...

Hi, they've been using sony's patcher for over a month. If you're too dense to pick that up from the forums (it's even in the public areas) then you probably shouldn't be testing anyway =\

Vanguard isn't on Fileplanet...or if it is, it's not the only/recommended way to get it.

I got a reply recently in the same message chain that the old beta 3 invite came on. Gmail makes those look like brand new messages (combined with the fact that my gmail is kept empty and slight retardation on my part).

I fail at staying current. On the other hand, I hadn't been able to play since that whole fileplanet/MS/SOE love triangle thing started, so I don't even know if I'm still in beta at this point.

Meh, too much work for a game I'll never buy anyway.

so I don't even know if I'm still in beta at this point.
I think it's a fairly simple process.

First you need to go to http://www.vanguardsoh.com/forums - you can reach this by going to http://www.vanguardsoh.com and clicking on forums or going directly there (with the first link).

Next you're going to see in the upper right hand portion of the website (a website is the thing you're viewing) a login area:

Image

The login area will allow you special access to the forum (this will also allow you to post!). Once you log in (place your username in the first box and your password in the second box - don't worry, your password will show on the page as multiple asterix, but the password you type is actually there) you will be able to tell if there is a "Vanguard Beta" section.

It may be difficult to find, so make sure you scroll all the way from top to bottom (press the down arrow, Page Down key, or use the scroller on the right side of your web browser with your mouse).

This game is so good it creates flamewars over the patcher!

Guild X defeated the patcher with ease while Guild Y is using some workaround to bypass the true intent of beta process/patcher which is supposed to add 2 hours of gameplay time.

When did they switch to SOE patcher... maybe I am using that, shit I guess I need to update... been to busy playing EQ2 I guess. I know I've played in the past 2 months though... well that is IF I was in the beta and all... not saying that I am of course.

when B3 started they completely changed their patching process to SOE standards. It's identical to the EQ2 Patcher and definitely something you "notice."

For one you don't execute patches like WoW, it's just downloaded and extracted like SoE games.

The game is already good. Whether it's great or not is another story.

No game will ever be another EverQuest for this board's participants. And I'd be surprised if any online game were to get the level of addiction from anyone in this crowd ever again. That's not an insult in any way, just what I'm pretty sure is the truth.

For the field of games that this is to be released against, I'm sure it will do great.

Did you get your invite Miir? If not, you might want to order a copy of the June issue of Computer World Magazine. That issue has a beta code you can use. Several friends of mine got in with that.

Xanupox is, as usual, 100% full of shit. Even as it is right now, Vangaurd has more content than both of those turds combined.

Then you both should be looking in other forums.

I figured the lag was due to lack of optimization right now.

That may be going on also, but they closed Thestra (thursday, friday?) to do updates to it and everyone moved to Qhal all at once.
