PoP was a hall of fame expansion compared to GoD. The disjointed mess that was the Luclin expansion is where things initiallt took a turn for the worse...not that EQ wasn't fun all the way through PoP!

PoP was one of the best expansions. Perhaps if you weren't in a raiding guild you may have thought it was bad. And the PoJ trials were lame. Other than that.. Good stuff. Wouldn't mind seeing more expansions like PoP.

Oh and the blowable triggers was dumb too.

I liked PoP, except for the asshattery of the RZ flag. That was sorta fun until the spam guilds started to let randoms get flagged. Damn fun zone in general when there were just a few peeps.

I miss those days, back when competition was healthy and fun. It's a textbook example of why many developers thought instancing was the best and only option for future MMO's.

WoW really screwed the pooch with their overkill on instanced content.... some instanced raid content is fine, but shared/contested dungeon content was/is one of the best things about EQ/EQ2.

Playing EQ2 now, I'm amazed at how much I missed dungeons that you could run into other people in, and clearing PHs hoping for a named to spawn. It's ridiculous, that shouldn't be a selling point, but it is.

WoW's dungeons were for the most part not bad (the non-raid ones I'm talking about here), but a lot of them weren't something I wanted to do more than once. Until 60 it was just about doing them to bust out the quests then move on.
