Fuck Symantech

I'd been using Norton Anti-virus 2005 before I reformated. I'd bought it from their store via digital download, and had renewed it since the original purchase. Now apparently you can't re-download after 1 year. What bullshit... back to thepiratebay for me!

Yeah, 60 day download policy. You can get the extended download option at renewal for an extra like 5 or 10 bucks. I always make my clients get extended download.

Get AVGfree; it works, it's updated every bit as fast as the others, and you don't have to worry that you have a virus detection program that's been crippled to avoid detecting the trojan it's delivered with.

Find & download a copy of the corporate version of NAV. S'far as I'm aware, there's no expiration to it and there's none of that regitration hassle crap with it either. It's also not bloated all to hell like NAV is these days.

It's called Symantec Antivirus as opposed to Norton Antivirus and is on version 10.x.x.x whereas NAV is using year versions.

AVG was rated as the best anti virus program here in a Norwegian PC magazine. And it is free.

I use NOD32 - it's like $30 but I like it because it's much less intrusive and much less of a resource hog than anything Symantec makes now.
