My cats get baths every couple of months. One of them takes it very well and just sits there looking miserable but he stays still and quiet.
They other one is a holy terror and takes two people to hold its screaming thrashing body down. It yowls at the top of its lungs the whole time. THe other cat will come and stand on the side of the tub and hit it with its paw to get it to be quiet. I really got to get some video, it is funnier than ti sounds.

That depends on the cat, my cat has really bad allergies and we are supposed to bath him once a week to help keep contagens out of his fur.
But I think that most commonly people bath their cats either to get rid of fleas, or because they are going to be in a cat show.

My cat would go fucking ballistic if I even tried to bathe it. She is however, a pretentious grumpy old madam.

Norman fell in the tub once... I counted it as his cat-bath. He smelled so pretty!
