Buying a new flatscreen

So i am looking to buy a new TV and was looking at the Samsung LE-40R72B, it fits my price point reasonably well and looks to me like a good choice with support for future techonogies and such.

But, I will admit that I am not too much in the know about these things, so i thought I would ask advice here, and see if there are any better choices around that price.

Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks in advance

I think an HDMI input is about as new as it gets on TV's. Winnow can correct me if I'm wrong.

Should be a good set.. is it 1920x1080? If so, then make sure the HDMI input has 2.0(or 1.2 or sumtin) compatability to take a 1080p input.

It is 1366x768, so not ready for 1080 afaik, but looks like it supports pretty much everything that will come out anytime soon over here.

I think the latest HDMI version is 1.3 Sony will be putting that one in the PS3.

Well, as long as he clears up whether this is a good screen to buy, that's cool with me =)

also: the thinnest tv available according to winnow is no tv at all... gogo projector!

i really like the 40" sony bravia XBR LCD. i bought one, but my friends made me return it since it was overkill for a second and barely used set. it's pretty though. i ended up with a 26" philips LCD, and it looks great for the price.
