I think it's great Carson Palmer is doing charity work, and I think he is a great QB.
However someone in his marketing firm needs fired.

On June 17, 2006, Carson Palmer will host the first annual Carson Palmer Cornhole Classic presented by Cincinnati Bell and Huntington Bank to benefit his new charity partner, Lighthouse Youth Services.
WTF?

Thanks Sabek, that provided some comedy relief. :) My favorite quote from the article is in bold.
[10:15:18 AM]<Matt> and rofl @ http://www.bengals.com/community/palmer_cornhole06.asp
[10:17:14 AM]<Chris> wait, wait
[10:17:22 AM]<Chris> is that serious?
[10:17:25 AM]<Matt> i think so
[10:17:29 AM]<Chris> how do you play 'cornhole'?
[10:17:32 AM]<Matt> rofl
[10:17:34 AM]<Matt> i don't know
[10:17:40 AM]<Matt > do you think someone is going to get fired for that?
[10:17:45 AM]<Chris> hahaha
[10:18:08 AM]<Chris> Palmer developed the idea for the event soon after being introduced to the sport of cornhole while living in Cincinnati. “Shae and I got hooked on playing cornhole right after we moved out here.
[10:18:17 AM]<Chris> that makes me laugh
[10:18:27 AM]<Matt> i'm also hooked on playing cornhole
[10:18:28 AM]<Matt>
[10:19:09 AM]<Chris> i need someone to teach me how to 'cornhole'
[10:19:22 AM]<Matt> oh, I can teach you...

A friend at work said cornhole is a white trashy game of throwing bags of corn into holes. Kinda like horseshoes.

I mean if you like the game great. Just freaking call the event something else. :)

Lol I heard about this on my ride in.

Hilarious story. I refuse to believe that Palmer doesn't know the alternate meaning of the word 'cornhole'.

OHHHHH... okay. I think that most people who don't live in one big, inbred truckstop of a state (read: outside of Ohio) call that game "bean bag toss" or something along those lines. :p

I at least know what you're talking about, I think. You place two wooden things with a hole cut in them that are angled at like 30 degrees some distance apart and people stand on opposite sides and try to throw bean bags into the holes?

I bet you didn't know, as I didn't until I Googled, that there is an American Cornhole Association.
One of the great benefits of ACA membership is that you can track your individual Cornhole statistics relative to other ACA members around the country.

That diagram you posted looks a whole lot like a game we play called washers.

it's essentially horsehoes except you don't have to foul up the yard.

Washers is very similar (if you play the same variant I'm familiar with) only the boxes are flat rather than angled. And you play with washers instead of beanbags. And our washers usually have 3 holes per box, rather than one.

I heard this on the Dan Patrick show yesterday on the drive home from work. I was laughing the whole way. He made very good fun of this event. Like how his family introduced Cornholing to South Dakota and such.

i hate you sylvus. and seriously i played cornhole last night unrelated to this article (seriously inebriated).

Sit on every poll you like in July, let's talk at the end of November.

I seriously prefer Michigan's chances when we aren't top five or ten pre-season.

Lloyd Carr's not that old, his kids aren't that much older than me!

And I have my Uncle's tix for the Michigan game again, so I'll be there. I think my friend already tried to book us a hotel room and he said it's already pretty full up.
