I never buy music. I'm one of those rare folk that just listens to the radio I guess.

My father had a couple of eight-track albums that he can't play anymore because the old film will snap and break.


If I could find CDs of these two old albums, I'd have a great christmas gift.

Merle Haggard, Let me tell you about a song, made in 72 I think is one of them.

Another one is Cat Stevens, second album. I don't know the name.

Question: Any tips as to where I could go to find such stuff? Is old stuff hard to get or do most music stores have deep stocks? Do you know any online music stores that you'd trust your credit card to?

Name of Album would make this a lot easier, but you can search http://www.cdnow.com or http://www.amazon.com for music. A lot of oldie stuff has been remade into cd's.

eBay, Yahoo Shopping, cdnow, and Amazon.com are all great places to check. I don't buy a lot of music online, Best Buy usually has what I want.

You can browse the artists collection on Gracenote to find the name of an album if you know some other information about them. From there, you click on a link to buy any albums you want. Or go to Amazon, Buy.com or cdnow to buy the album once you know its name.

I only know 2 Cat Stevens albums....Teaser and the Firecat and Tea for the Tillerman. Teaser and the Firecat was an awesome album. Which songs are you looking for? Firecat had Moonshadow, Tuesdays Dead, Peace Train etc etc.

Wow that's a lot more straight-forward that I thought it would be.
