While I think Nash is a great player and Im still sad Cuban let him go this pick does not make sense.
Kobe had almost Double the Scoring average @ 35.4 PPG and more Rebounds per game, Not to mention 4.5 Assist.
But the One that confuses me is Lebron Clearly heads ans shoulders above anyone.
31.4 PPG 7.0 Reb and 6.6 APG ( And he is a Foward not a PG)

Basically Nash is a different kind of player. 7 people on his team suddenly had career years. He did what he did without Stoudamire.
Kobe had an amazing year scoringwise (obviously) but, it wasn't until the end of the year that I think he started to make the people around him better, and I think it's a fair assumption that Phil Jackson had more to do with that than Kobe.
Really though, this was a year where I could have easily seen it going to any of four guys. Nash himself said he'd have given it to Nowitski. That's high praise imho.

thats bullshit. good player yes, but hell i would rank marion ahead of nash on that team. his play was really a big factor in how the suns were as good as they were this season with out amare. as its already been said, kobe and lebron had his ass kicked in play and stats. (dirk too)

I don't really like it, but I guess if you look at who is the most valuable player to their team...
Actually, I still don't like it. I think you could plug any of a number of top-tier point guards in there and they wouldn't have lost that many more games. Nash is good, but are there any other factors contributing to the 7 people having career years? More PT, playing different roles, maturing as a player, etc?
I think King James should have won it.

oooooooooh! *grunt grunt*
Well deserved!
He's a team leader, team player and the Suns would have been nothing without him this year.
LeBron could have won it as well this year. I'm sure he'll take it next year if the Cavs continue to improve. Lebron gets his team involved while Kobe is more of a "me" player. I never thought that scoring a lot of points = MVP.
It really screwed up my predictions though. Noel wins the prediction pool as Nash was supposed to deserve the MVP but not win it.
Go Suns! Check them out tonight.

nods. Nash is an amazing player who makes other players around him muc better. It is a testament to what sports are supposed to be. I'd also support LeBron. I think he will win many of these in the future, he has that same drive and team player mentality as Nash.

Lots of people want to compare Lebron to Jordan. Personally, when I look at Lebron I see Magic Johnson. He has fantastic court vision. He just needs to be a bit better in the clutch, and what he'll be able to do is almost limitless.

I wonder how solid this info is:
The announcement may not come for two weeks, according to the Arizona Republic. But the paper, and others, report that the voting shows Nash edging LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki, Chauncey Billups and Kobe Bryant for the MVP.
It's coming from an Arizona newspaper. I'm curious if enough votes are already in to know for sure or if they are projecting. Last year's vote was the closest MVP vote ever.
edit: last year was fourth closest ever

Same. He is an even better version of Magic. Or could be I should say. He seems a little more athlethic than Magic with all of Magics skills for shooting, passing and vision. I look forward to watching him over the next 10 years.
Kobe is the only one who reminds me of Jordon at times. Thing is about Jordan, he made people around him better. He always seemed to be invovled in everything that went on durign the game. Shoutng, instructing, talking smack. You can see some glimpses of this in Kobe, but minus the court leadership skills.
